For a couple of days now, the site has been crawling. It doesn't matter if I am logged in at my office or home.
My cable internet service is like having dialup.
It's going to be hell for the LIVE American Idol threads..and it was not fun on last night's 24 thread.

Yeah its slower than normal for me out here in Nevada.. Must be a router closer to the server since I am rather close to Cali and if I understand correctly, the server is in California.

When the price of something is low (or free), people tend to over-consume it. I heard that, two years ago, Yahoo had 42,000 servers in operation fielding a billion hits per day on their "free" services. Now throw in Google, email, spam, and everything else and there are a lot of electrons flying around at any moment on an over-burdened system. Eventually, something has to give and my guess is that traffic is being queued to accommodate the onslaught.

Daylight saving time is ruining the world. FR running slow is just a symptom of the coming collapse.

Try typing slower before you hit Post. The WWIKBT (World Wide Internet Keyboard Buffer Thingy) is maxed out.

I have 5MB speed and it takes forever. I actually shut down and checked all my connections after I ran a defrag and it still is crawling. Very frustrating when you are used to not waiting.
