Giuliani is the preferred candidate for 34 percent of likely Republican voters, according to the poll. Giuliani has a double-digit lead over his nearest rival, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who is the choice candidate for 18 percent of potential Republican voters.
Conservative endorsements
In a move to attract conservatives skeptical of his position on social issues such as gun control, abortion rights and same-sex civil unions, Giuliani's campaign Monday announced endorsements from Sen. David Vitter, R-Louisiana, and former Solicitor General Ted Olson.
"Obviously, I disagree with Rudy on some significant social issues, and these are very important to me and to many people I represent," said Vitter, a vocal opponent of abortion, gay marriage and gun control.
"But after numerous personal meetings with the mayor, it's very clear to me that he's not running for president to advance any liberal social agenda," he said.
Olson, who served with Giuliani in the Reagan Justice Department, said he believes the former mayor "will appoint the kind of judges that we expect in this country -- people that respect the rule of law and the role of judges and who interpret the laws and interpret the Constitution, instead of judges who want to make policy."

You compromise!
Pick someone besides the most Liberal GOP candidate, Rudy Giuliani.
Your lies about him not supporting Partial Birth Abortion - which he does - and Abortion on Demand - which he does - and gun confiscation - which he does - prove yet again that the Rudy campaign relies on five things for victory:
Outright lies,
Second-hand lies,
Lies by omission,
Damned lies,
And Semantic lies.
Why are you in such a hurry to destroy Conservatism? Why have you positioned yourself with domestic enemies in the hopes of a shallow victory that marginalizes the GOP Conservative base?
Are you so easy to buy? Is your soul so cheap that it can be purchased by simple, early poll numbers?
"Hillary will make mincemeat out of Rudy."
Not according to all the polls and Michael Barone, the top elections expert in the country.

I like trains, actually! Always have! Penn Station, GCT, etc. RUDY EXPRESS!
So Rudy told this to Ted. Ted believed Rudy and repeated what Rudy told him.
Nothing against Ted Olsen, but I don't have to believe it just because Rudy said it.
Rudy's actions speak louder than his words, and his past actions do not support his words.
7 WTC was hit by debris only. The decision to locate the Command Center there was controversial from Day One. The coast was high, locating it in a major target zone was stupid and the fuel load (in an already fuel overloaded building - Salomon Brothers had added a few tons of back up fuel there as well) made no sense. Typical corrupt NY City though, it made political sense. Until 911. It darn neared killed Rudy and it did make response times slower than they might otherwise have been, as FDNY and NYPD had to relocate command personnel during a true attack. Bad move Rudy. But only just one of many.
Me too. Glad you liked it. :-)
"While he was the Republican Mayor of New York City he appointed more than 60 men and women to the Civil, Criminal, and Family Court benchs. In all of those judicial appointment only two were Republican."
The Mayor of NYC doesn't have full reign on choosing judicial nominees. The Mayor must fill a judgeship from 3 nominees chosen by some NY Judicial Commission, a commission controlled by Democrats!! You should always tell the whole story and not take things out of context.
I'm talking about the republicans too. There was supposed to be a GOP debate in NH this week but Romney was the only top tier candidate willing to show up so it was cancelled.
And how does that make your original assertion that the command center 'destroyed' WTC # 7 more credible?
Those are Rudy's actual quotes as are all the other quotes I listed! You ignore the fact that Rudy is a conservative on fiscal, most domestic policy, and foreign policy issues! You also ignore the fact the President has little influence over social issues and there Rudy supports strict constructionist judges as confirmed by Ted Olson and Ted Olson is no liar!
That might be even better than the Spiff and Spam one.
It's really great.

Yawn. 7 WTC was not directly attacked. The command center fuel was located in a major target area by your hero Rudy. You connect the dots. If you can. Google Kerik while you are at it.
So there should be no Republican primary?
I think the 'Crazy Train' must cross over 'De Nile'.
Who the Hell are you to talk about the real world?
TWirP!
I'm still baffled by the assertion that the command center actually destroyed a building.
You really need to go to Democratic Underground and start your recruiting. You Rudophiles are making it clear you don't need us, so go recruit your own kind.
You KNOW Rudy is Pro-Partial Birth Abortion, and you know he's feeding us the NARAL line about "protecting the health of the mother."
You KNOW he has confiscated guns and will do so again.
You KNOW he will be an Abortion Rights activist as President.
And you KNOW DAMN WELL that he will not appoint ANY judges to the bench who will overturn law he holds HOLY like Roe vs. Wade.
