NY TIMES PLANS TUESDAY HIT ON GORE, NEWSROOM SOURCES TELL DRUDGE: 'Scientists argue that Gore's warnings are full of exaggerated claims and startling errors'... Developing..
From a Rapt Audience, a Call to Cool the Hype
"Hollywood has a thing for Al Gore and his three-alarm film on global warming, An Inconvenient Truth, which won an Academy Award for best documentary. So do many environmentalists, who praise him as a visionary, and many scientists, who laud him for raising public awareness of climate change.
But part of his scientific audience is uneasy. In talks, articles and blog entries that have appeared since his film and accompanying book came out last year, these scientists argue that some of Mr. Gores central points are exaggerated and erroneous. They are alarmed, some say, at what they call his alarmism.
I dont want to pick on Al Gore, Don J. Easterbrook, an emeritus professor of geology at Western Washington University, told hundreds of experts at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America. But there are a lot of inaccuracies in the statements we are seeing, and we have to temper that with real data..."

How big is AlGore's ice cream footprint? LOL!
Can you believe AlGore once ran a marathon?
Running in a marathon is no biggie...finishing it is the trick...anyone can take 3 steps and say they've been in a marathon. I bet it wasn't recently in any case...unless the ice cream truck was the pace car.

"The problem is no major "side" wants to concentrate on finding the cause" The problem is that no one wants to accept that there was never some ideal "stability" in time past. If we halt human carbon emissions, what will we do when the planet goes back to a cooling cycle, burn the forests? Set the oil wells aflame? We're centuries away from being able to micromanage the climate.

"Fill a glass with ice and add water up to the very rim. The ice floats above the surface. does the water overflow the glass when the ice melts? Nope. because the ice displaces the same amount as water or ice.
Try filling the glass then adding ice, I think that's the concept. Most glacial ice is above sea level and on land.
But I have little confidnce in their measurements, given the quasi-religious orientation of the people doing the measuring. They believe, therefore they measure.

The aging process is not treating AlGore very well.
He isn't helping with the feedbag, either.

Don't buy yer Carbon Credits just yet!
If I can get enough interest I'll start my own website and sell the credits for 10% less than whatever Gore is selling them for. They'll come with a real official looking frame-able certificate from the Board of Climate & Environment Preservation, and each certificate will also come with the blessing of a Cherokee Holy Woman. (my wife is 1/64th Cherokee)
Let me know how many of you want to buy 'em and how much money you have. If the market looks right we will begin selling our superior Carbon Credits shortly.
P.S. It would seem P.T. Barnum died ahead of his time. We could really use him now, and he could really use some of us.

I'm not holding my breath.
Somehow, it will turn out to be Bush's/Rove's/Cheney's/Halliburton's/Republican's/Conservatives'/Christians and/or Capitalists fault for absolutely wrecking the planet and making a living hell on earth for anyone with a heart and a brain.
If any scientific information turns out to be incorrect, it certainly won't be Gore/Clinton/Liberalism/Socialism/The U.N. or MSM bias.
Isn't that in the NYT corporate motto or something?

Gore allowed his weight to yo-yo during his eight years as vice president, toting along exercise gear on Air Force Two when he needed to slim down.
In 1997, he ran the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington with a respectable time of 4:58:25, three years after tearing his Achilles tendon playing hoops.
USAW: I also understand that you have run a marathon.
Gore: That's true. I ran the Marine Corps Marathon [in Washington, D.C.] in 1988, because two of my daughters dared me to do it. So I trained for it and ran and toward the end of it, they slowed down [to match my pace] and they finished the race with me.

"The glaciers in questions are either over a land mass like Antarctica, North America or Greenland or else they are on ice piled all the way to the sea bottom."
Perhaps, but what the GW henny pennys don't mention is that while ice is melting at A, it is thickening at B. As mentioned in "The Great Global Warming Swindle", even in the Medieval Warm Period there was tons of glacial ice on Greenland. And all of this is academic, anyway, because we aren't causing GW. Without the lefties, we would be allowed to observe with curiosity instead of unreasoned fear and panic. Wouldn't that be nice?

If it is not caused by humans, then why is it a problem?
Because it will impact generations to come....?
It is clear we do not not know the cause...only that is it is happening....
You are correct....we must adapt....the question remains as to how we should adpt....
IMHO...efforts in attempting to cool the earth are the least likely to succeed....therefore, attempting to limit CO2 emissions (to the degree some scientists think is needed), destroying ones economy in doing so, has little hope in succeeding....
The most practical solution is to stop the hype, study the issue, and attempt to really understand what is the root cause....at the same time we should be preparing for the possible repercussions of rising sea levels...
If this issue was not so politically charged and hijacked by the loony left, we actually might be able to do something constructive.....but than again....this nation over the last 40 years hasn't even been able to come up with a sound energy policy....
Once again.....we will leave this issue to for our children to solve....
