Al Qaeda's second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahri lashed out at the leadership of Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on Sunday over its Saudi-brokered deal with the U.S.-backed Fatah faction in Mecca.
"The leadership of Hamas surrendered to the Jews most of Palestine" to keep heading the Palestinian government, said the militant leader in an audio statement aired by Al Jazeera television. "It has fallen in the quagmire of surrender."

--quagmire of surrender
Interesting turn of phrase. Maybe it'll turn up on the NYT.

"It has fallen in the quagmire of surrender." US Democrats and Al Qeda have the same speech writer!

I can't imagine "quagmire" is an actual translated word in Arabic and if he actually used the word we know he's about to run as another Democrat Presidential Nominee.

He's actually echoing the long-established Muslim Arab tradition of fighting to the last Palestinian.
What a toad.

Hamas is too moderate for al Qaeda? Now, that's nuance that even John Kerry'd find too refined for his mind that's often fetched with distinctions without a difference.

I swear al Qaeda, al Sadr, and many of our enemies are so inspired by our defeatists at home in the MSM and DNC that they often use the same boilerplate and invectives. There is a symbiotic relationship between our foreign enemies and our domestic Bush haters. I'd love to see someone do a Lexus/Nexus search and post it.

Today's the anniversary of Al Qaeda's 3/11 train bombing in Spain, yet all that the remnants of that organization can do anymore is paraphrase the NY Times...

I agree....and what is it with Zawahiri looking and sounding angry....every tape recently....he sounds unhinged.

I'd like al-Zawahri to pops his head out of his hide out long enough for us to drop a JDAM on top of him.

Why doesn't Al-Zawahiri strap on a belt and join the Martyrs' Brigade? These old farts of Al Qaeda call for suicide bombers but don't volunteer themselves and protect their own children from such a fate.
