Democratic strategist Bob Beckel admitted, in an interview on Fox News, that Fred Thompson for president would be their worst nightmare. Sounds good to me!

Wrong. Let's review, shall we?
According to OnTheIssues.org, Fred Thompson consitently voted for business, against higher taxes, for a balanced budget, for ANWR drilling, terminating CAFE standards, for capping foreign aid, for free trade, for private property rights, for personal retirement accounts and for welfare reform. He was rated 100% by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 90% by the League of Private Property Voters, 97% by the National Tax Limitation committee and 88% from the National Taxpayers Union. That, my friend, is an economic conservative.
Again, according to OnTheIssues.org, Fred voted consistently against abortion, for gun owners, against the gay agenda and for school vouchers and educational savings accounts. He was rated zero by National Abortion Reproductive Rights Action, zero by the American Federation of Teachers, just 6% by the National Education Association, zero by Americans for Democratic Action and only 11% by the ACLU. That is a social conservative.
Finally, OnTheIssues.org reports that FDT consistently voted for homeland security issues, for law enforcement, for a national missle defense shield and other military appropriations, and for using military force against Iraq. And that is a security conservative.
In addition, Project Vote Smart listed Thompson as having supported Contract With America items 100, and his 2002 American Conservative Union score was 89 (Duncan Hunter's was 88 that year). The NRA called him a "staunch supporter of the Second Amendment." The National Journal describes FDT as "a conservative [who] has a record to back it up." Intellectual Conservative says Fred "has been consistently conservative on social policy." Human Events calls Thompson "A Conservative Who Can Win." The American Spectator refers to Fred as "solidly conservative." Now that's a conservative's conservative!
Nice try to paint FDT as something other than what he is - a conservative's conservative, but as Hillary said to Bill, "No cigar." Care to try again?
Your summary nails it on the head. Fred is biding his time. He knows, McCain knows, his staff knows, hell everybody knows that his campaign is already tanking.
"Please don't throw me into that briar patch!"
Put me on the Fred Thompson list, please....
Good morning. My computer's clock is keeping up with the time change, but FR isn't, so it's a little offsetting...
Newt is too smart to think he could be elected with all of his baggage. He's angling for a cabinet post...
John Glenn didn't roll Fred, he simply stonewalled the hearings so that nobody could tell what happened with the Clintons and ChiComs. Glenn betrayed his country for a ride on the space shuttle.
As for the campaign money, Fred will take over most of McCain's supporters, because I think this will be the way for Johnny Boy to bow out with a little bit of his arse left, he's going to kill any support Romney had in the South and Midwest, and some Rudy supporters are going to back up and think to themselves, "There's actually a conservative in this race?". He'll come up with the money. Fast.
Looks "Presidential" to me.
LOL
What's up with the 3 week early intro to DST anyway? It always screws me up at work for a few days.
Apparently it's something Congress did last year. Good morning!
It's supposed to put a smile on your face (more light), save energy and make you safer on the roads.
That's the PR.
John McCain and Rudy Giuliani might just as well be Democrats as far as Im concernedin fact, if either of them were running against Joe Lieberman, Id probably be more likely to vote for Lieberman.
That just seems funny to me for some reason. Lieberman and McCain are both war hawks. It would be an interesting choice. I definitely could not vote for Lieberman for his pro-choice stance though. Plus to vote for a Democrat would be very difficult for me as well. However, Nebraska Nelson against Romney or Rudy would be a tough choice. I think Nelson is more conservative than Rudy for sure.
I like Fred Thompson, I also like Newt, they both are straight forward people. And I have an unrelated question to this particular thread, whatever happened to Kearan Chetrey on Fox? We thought that she was on vacation at first, but my husband was looking on the Fox website at the hosts profiles and she is not on there.
Okie dokie! :)
Do us a favor--since you brought them up, post some of those "circles" you're talking about.
