MICHAEL MOORE'S BIG SECRET
THE AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE WORKER ^ | 12-01-1990 | MICHAEL WESTFALL

Moore's "Roger" movie was about himself. It was a self-promoting film exploiting America's workers plight. It was designed to make money, build a career and garner acclimation and name recognition for Moore…. which it did. But at what price? In reality, Moore's film genuinely hurt workers, their families and our communities because he made a vulgar joke of America's workers very serious dilemma while sidetracking and gliding over the critical issues. Moore was not a blue-collar worker, he did not understand and he obviously had a different agenda. Since then auto workers jobs as well as other middle class jobs across our great nation have been decimated and Moore didn't go down with the Flint ship because he was never on the boat. Prior to "Roger and Me" Moore was a writer of a small unsuccessful magazine in Davison, Michigan. It has been said Moore became confused with what his role was as a writer and the role of the actual Flint activist workers he saw, so he decided to become the "Flint Don Quixote" and subject of his own story. Many selfless people worked on these issues in Flint and the surrounding areas during those years and their work was a real slice of Americana at its best. There were hundreds of loyal workers who were not looking for stardom and spent all of their effort and time working on the issues. There were also many genuinely concerned churches, politicians, union leaders, media and fine people from academia from all over the country working with the "real deal" worker activists. Musselman stated that Moore had gone too far and had lied about everything from the chronology of his own life to where the original ideas for Roger & Me came from.

Michael Moore is Hollywood today.

Scratch barely below the surface on almost any of the new entertainment politicos and you'll see a big "It's all about ME",.

The core statement is that "I'm brilliant enough" with a higher understanding than the masses. With that I can decree right, wrong, who needs what, and decide true justice.

Then come the 'chump change' charity offerings from mega-millionaires. The 'throw away' free appearances... SO WHAT!

And the symbolism above substance actions... Like, I'll skip a meal in a "rolling fast" with my Fat Cat friends. That will help the hungry Africans.

Finally, let me adopt a minority kid so I can wear them like fashion jewelry or a new tattoo.

I'm waiting for PETA to protest Moore for his abundance of bovine flatulence that is treatening the ozone layer. It won't happen though!

End of rant.
