Funny, we had a President and Chairman, after the first year I never served in either of those positions. We set it up that way so no one person could control it nor commandeer it.
On the other hand, you're leadership has never changed. Some of your ex-members contacted me and said the top down oppression is the reason they left.
You deserve an extraordinary amount of credit for the above, Bob J. One of the biggest problems with grassroots organizations (and it is at the top of the list if not the very top) is that the same people run and control them for years, stifling not only ideas which are extremely important to the development of effectiveness and the establishment of a good reputation, but also the growth of membership. It is difficult, particularly for founders of groups to abdicate that kind of control, but when they do, it is a strong indication of true integrity and character.
