Not This Time (poem about Gathering of Eagles)
Gathering of Eagles e-mail | 1 Mar 07 | E.M. Cooper, USMC

Posted on 03/08/2007 8:14:11 AM PST by seanmerc

Not This Time

They gathered in the 60s And Ol' Glory burned and tore With all their hollow slogans such as "Let's make love, not war."

They took for granted freedoms Struggled for in every clime. But as their sequel gathers steam We're saying "Not this time."

~~~~
Peaceniks still don't grasp the irony As they demand free speech. Atop soapboxes, with bullhorns They curse and mock and preach.
And in our country that's their right 'Twas earned in blood and grime. Secured by men they tried to shame But not now, not this time.
~~~~

Perhaps someone can tell me why When marching on for "peace" These protesters bring cans of paint And beat upon police?

Their anti-war activities Bought and paid by foreign dime, They used to go unchallenged, But we promise - not this time.

~~~~
They assaulted soldiers coming home With curse words, spit and worse. All done, it's claimed, in search of peace No matter how perverse.
With Fonda, Kerry, Ramsey Clark, And others past their prime, They hope to relive "glory" days. But hold on, not this time.
~~~~

Their signs laced with profanity, With swastikas and threats. Parading by with coffins Showing no signs of regret.

Demonstrating outside hospitals With signs like "Maimed for Lies." Well, free speech is a two-way street You've got company this time.

~~~~
Outside the Capitol, perhaps Is where these types belong. But treading on such sacred ground Is insolent and wrong.
They won't disturb memorials, Or other spots sublime. They've damaged several in the past, But trust me, not this time.
~~~~

So on March 17th around The Wall we will be lined. Ensuring reverence does prevail, No monuments maligned.

We'll peacefully assemble, And we'll tolerate no crime. Forty years ago they marched alone, Forget it - not this time.

~~~~
E.M. Cooper, USMC 3/1/07
I'm disappointed these threads are not having more traffic.
We need to start one when things heat up for sure.
I will be leaving for Nevada tomorrow, and cannot actively be there. I am there in the moral sense however.
When it comes to these idiots burning our flag, they forget one thing. Most in the military, present and past, took an oath to defend this country and this flag. To my knowledge, nobody has released them from this oath. Each of us has the responsibility and the right to stop the burning of one of the most important items in our history. Again, if Congress says they have the right to burn our flag, we surely have the right to defend it.
THEY COME PREPARED TO DO BATTLE and they are well organized.
Seriously, it's not just bandanas over the faces, they have BMX or hockey pads and protection on under their clothes, they bring improvised weapons like D-Cell batteries in socks, flammable liquids in unmarked water bottles, etc.; stuff that can be quickly assembled or disassembled into innocent components carried by multiple persons.
If their target is the Memorial, they will likely create a diversion to get the police away from the Memorial. If they want the Gathering of Eagles folks away, they will create a physical confrontation with them in one area, hoping to draw the rest over and then they'll hit the unprotected area. If you're protecting an area, stay at that area. When your adrenalin gets going, you'll want to go help, DON'T DO IT. The Eagles need to have people free from protection assignments to respond to these diversions so the Memorial is not left unprotected.
They use cell phones, hand radios, police scanners to keep their people informed. They will have folks on bikes or skates so they can move quickly from one spot to another (unprotected) spot.
Oh and most important: As tempting as it will be, do not let the black block folks draw you into any violence. Philosophically, you don't need to lower yourself to their level. Practically of course you can defend yourself, but be forwarned that the black blockers will turn that around on you too.
They will have people whose only job is to get photos and video. Any pics or vids of you defending yourself will never see the light of day. Any pic or video that can be construed as you initiating violence or "over" defending yourself will be on the media and attached to a criminal complaint, a lawsuit, etc.
Because of this it is important for the Eagles folks to have assigned pic and video people too. The black blockers will injure themselves and blame it on you. They will start s--t with you and only film you responding. They have lots of free time to edit their videos and pics then distribute them to anyone who will look.
The DC cops, Capitol Police, and Parks Police already know all this from experience.
I'm on the other side of the country and can't be there. Please pass this info on to the Gathering of Eagles folks. The more prepared they are, the less chance of success from anarchists. It's important they don't succeed because if they do it just emboldens them to stoop even lower for their next "action."
No one has the Constitutional right to desecrate a monument.
Thank You SM.
About " Supporting AMERICA by Supporting Those who DEFEND it; Past, Present, Future, Forever!"-- Our Monuments- which are America's MEMORIALS To their Sacrifices and HISTORY!-Here's a small but INPORTANT reminder of HOW "REAL" Americans think!
"The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier "
The Tomb is guarded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. ----In fact, there has been a Sentinel on duty in front of the Tomb every minute of every day since 1937. ---- And the Sentinel does not change the way he guards the Tomb, even at night when there is no one around. ---- The Sentinels do this because they feel that the Unknown Soldiers who are buried in the Tomb deserve the very best they have to give.
Says it all? doesn't it!
See you all at the Wall!
This adverse element should be considered dangerous fifth columnists and swiftly prosecuted according under the applicable sedition laws.
Below some of the good guys countering the subversive fifth columnists.
