Please tell your son "You are not alone". He and his friends may not hear it, but there are a lot of us who support them, know what they are doing, know what they are accomplishing.

Please, let him know. They are not alone.

Not my son. Someone's son, for sure. I have no way to contact the author or his father.

Just pass it on and maybe it will wake up some idiots in Washington.

Thank you Swordmaker for sharing this with us. It is very good.

This is absolutely RIGHT ON! As Right on as thing I've read of late. To tell the truth, I'm getting really sick of all of the BICKERING and Pettiness! There is a life outside VERY SMALL idiots like sheehanigan, suzie suran-wrap, and hanoi-jane(ole hag-bag), smurtha and their ilk....they all act like little kids doing their put-down stuff, throwing (toys)temper tantrums and wah, wahing to get their way! It's grow-up time kids....and they will be the very ones crying for mountains to fall on them in the Battle of All Battles!!
They are truly selling America right down the drain. That's why so many people are taking the time out of their busy schedules to make the trip to DC to the 'Gathering of Eagles' and 'These Colors Don't Run!!' Support the Troops Rally.

All of this sound to familiar as I have a son that was on deployment to Iraq for a year. Yes, he was wounded and may have to be Medically discharged, but if not, he would willing to return in a heartbeat, because he like Thousands of others....He believes in the Mission and he believes in all of good that he saw first hand having been accomplished. Although, it may seem so for a brief time, David Jeffers, please tell your son that "He is Not Alone" as there are many stateside that "Have his back!"

First, to the people on the ping list, please forgive me for using it for another purpose. I think this letter deserves a reading. Or two.

David, I can't thank you enough for sharing your son's words. I can imagine the range of emotion they brought forth. I just finished reading Andrew Carroll's collection of war letters dating back to the Civil War. You're right...they don't come close to echoing the understanding of the political dimension of war that Eddie has given us.

McGavin, your words are right on, but we need them said where they can be heard by all the Eddies in Iraq and Afghanistan. These words of encouragement need to be a daily part of the national newscasts and they need to be in the major Dailies all across the country. That's our job, if we truly support our troops. Eddie told us that the enemy is changing, that certain Americans are undermining the success of our military.

It's now up to us to take up arms (words) and fight the good fight. Make your voice heard, through letters and e-mails and phone calls - whatever it takes - so that when Eddie reads his hometown daily online, he can see there that he is supported by Americans at home.

My version of troop support to date has been sending care packages overseas. That's going to change, personally. I took an oath of enlistment to protect the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It's time to live up to that oath. Anyone else willing to fight this battle?
