The Mountain Press said it dropped Coulter because of her "distasteful and irresponsible comments over the weekend about a presidential candidate. Coulter referred to Democratic candidate John Edwards as a 'faggot' in a Friday speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference.

"Our readers will be happy to know, however, that we will continue to run columnists who accuse Pres. Bush of being a liar on every issue under the sun, accuse boots-on-the-ground soldiers worldwide of being incompetent and sadistic, support state-sponsored racism against caucasians, and gush over the brilliance of Al Gore."

Newspapers are dying and are indeed already dead among the conservatives I know.

AC should not give a care about being "dropped" (gasp!) by biased, antiquated media, because of outrage from the QueerLobby.

Although I disliked Ann's improper crack at Edwards, isn't the double standard interesting? In order for Ted Rall to have his "column" and "cartoons" dropped from papers, he had to engage in repeated, outrageous, PLANNED racism and hatemongering against, well, just about anyone with whose policies he disagrees. And Ann? She gets the same dump-the-column treatment over one off-the-cuff (if juvenile and nasty) crack.

Two wrongs don't make a right, no, but I'm marveling at how much LESS of a wrong is required for a CONSERVATIVE to be dumped than for a leftist.
