You make a good point, but the FACT of what was written was true.

What was 'interpreted' was a FICTION in the readers mind.

Well, using that logic, all things are "fiction," since all things are based on some kind of interpretation. The Fact that a book is sitting on my bookshelf right now is nothing more than my brain interpretting the light bouncing off my retina and the pressure on my skin (when I touch it) as a "book." Its existance is merely a "fiction" of my brain, the interpretation of physical stimuli.

I don't think either of us want to go that far. There is enough room in experiential argument for fact, fiction, and many other types of informational categories...
