ASHVILLE, Tenn. A Southern Baptist leader said Tuesday that evangelical voters might tolerate a divorced presidential candidate, but they have deep doubts about GOP hopeful Rudy Giuliani, who has been married three times.
Richard Land, head of public policy for the Southern Baptist Convention, told The Associated Press that evangelicals believe the former New York City mayor showed a lack of character during his divorce from second wife, television personality Donna Hanover.

i believe he needs to repair the damage with the people damaged, not with you.

Oh well, it passed spell check. That's apparently the only editing or proofreading that goes on anymore.

Holy Crap!!
Doesn't anyone proof read anything any more??
Bad enough to see terrible spelling on the crawls on each tv station. One of my biggest gripes.
I'd have trouble getting past pro-gun control, pro-abortion.
"Aren't these the same kind of wonderfully forgiving evangelicals who have fully embraced the pastors wife who was hooked on Nigerian internet debt scams, shot her minister husband in the back as he lay in their bed, and walked out of the house with the kids as her paralyzed husband lay dying? "
Can you give me a link to that story?
"i believe he needs to repair the damage with the people damaged, not with you."
The people 'damaged' were all the people who looked to him as mayor and public figure for an example for their kids. A public apology for providing a pisspoor example to the children of the city of New York would be in order, as a measure of 'repairing the damage.' A similar apology from the Clintons would have been an example of true repentance.
Hopefully "evangelicals" and others will be smart enough to figure out it is not Presidents who make the law of the land, or who impose gay marriage, gun controls, and abortion on demand - but the justices and judges they appoint to our courts.
Giuliani has already spoken up for appointing strictly constructionist judges. This is good, if you trust the US Constitution as written by the framers.
I believe aside from prosecuting the war against terror and shepherding us (and our beleagured military) through the appropriate reponse to our next attack (which is overdue), the quality of judicial nomination and successful advocacy - through appointment - by our next executive is a critical point consideration.
JP Stephens and Ruth Bader (at a minimum) will be goners during the next few years. Pick the candidate you trust to replace them.
Wyman and Reagan divorced in 1948, he met Nancy in 1951

You have to order it first, pal. Right here.
Do a search on "Mary Winkler" and you can read the whole sad case from many perspectives.
Her trial starts in April so this will become a lead story soon.
Thanks for sending me to a whore shirt site. You make true conservatism so inviting, I'm thinking of giving up my evil RINO freethink.

Well, if the site fits...

Ah forgiveness....
Ronald Reagan was an adulterer who walked out on his first wife, too (was Nancy pregnant?). Lack of character?"
It doesn't get any sleazier than your post.
You try to smear Southern Baptists with a lie, and you falsely smear President Reagan.
Man, you take the cake.
Man. I knew things were bad in NY when he got there, but I didn't realize he needed to declare martial law.
