Meanwhile, the rest of America has to get up early enough to give themselves extra time to get to work on time!

"He added that some might scratch their head at "an inch or two" of snow creating "all the pause, but it does.""

Gosh, we generally get more than that in a hour. LOL. He is right about DC being different from other places. DAH it's LA LA Land, Dingy you dolt. Amen.

Al Gore bought too many carbon credits. Now the world is freezing.

"They don't know how to dig out from one inch?? Geesh, maybe they issue rain warnings when the chances of an inch of rain are in the forecast."

You may have posted this as a jest, but it is eerily close to the truth. During my six years in DC/northern VA, it was not uncommon for the traffic report to issue warnings of slow going when it sprinkled, rained hard or snow fluried. There were even warnings when the sun was shining! "Beware crossing the American Legion Bridge, the sun will be directly in your eyes."

That last warning makes sense, because they know people drive like loons whether they can see or not. Ironically, NOW the snow is beginning to pile up (1.30 pm), so the evening commute ought to be lots of fun.

We had virtually no snow this morning. I have no idea how anybody used that as an excuse not to show up.

Funny, last night my wife was talking to her aunt (a new England resident) who was talking about their recent cold snap and in all seriousness was blaming it on global warming.

My mother called me this morning from her trip to DC and she said things were shut down because of snow. I asked her if Al Gore was in town talking about global warming.
