Money talks. Colleges expect support from their alumni, but in this case it was the only way we had to fight back against this absurd move. I'd have preferred they had done the right thing and put the cross back without the threat of withholding support, but it was clear that they would not be moved short of the prospect of monetary penalty.
This compromise is just another "god-aphobe" reaction. The students that don't like the cross should be taught tolerance. If they don't want to come to a university with a history of christianity then they should go somewhere else.
Aaaaah.... How nice. Tell us jerk... when's the last time the cross was symbolic of NOT welcoming all?
Mr. Nichols needs to be replaced.
jmho
Why would anyone agree to give any money to an organization that employs the people who precipitated this? Don't give them any money until they get rid of the anti religious zealots.
Apparently Mr. Nichol has a history of "god-aphobia", he pulled a similar stunt at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Just another lib scumbag Administrator/Attorney.

What other possible reaction could the college officials who ordered the cross to be removed expect?
Talk about tone deaf.
Mr. Nichol is a coward.
BTW, why would a non-Christian go into the chapel anyway?
He makes it sound as though Christ doesn't welcome everyone. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
The compromise is to put the cross in a glass case - like a museum.
Christianity under glass.
Immediately????? It took MONTHS to return the cross.
So what was the compromise?
Now, while they're on a roll, they should fire that ass of a President.
Do not give money to this institution they have not changed. They revealed themselves for who they are..
"Regime Change" must come first.. Dump the Dean and all the Other Sacks get some decent folk in then support the school.

Nothing is solved unless the Alumni can have the enablers of this politically correct, liberal travesty terminated from employment.
Great!
Now, fire the President.
