How can the gun-controlling, abortion-supporting, gay-friendly Rudy Giuliani be 25 percentage points ahead of John McCain

2 reasons...the first and most obvious reason is that it is a choice between one liberal and another...the second is that the Pollsers use smoke and mirrors to highlight what they want to highlight and the polls are useless...

The Rudy PIMPS are trying to shut up all conservatives one year before the primaries because they want the voters to have only two choices, a democrat or a democrat with an R by ITS name.
Either way they will have a far left winger as POTUS.

Answer: Contrary to popular belief, evangelicals (who comprise the party's base) are fully capable of chewing gum and voting at the same time. - No, evangelicals haven't abandoned the faith-based domestic agenda that brought them to the polls for Bush in 2004. But, in wartime, they have other concerns as well.

Wow! That's going to go over around here about as well doing shots of holy water at a bar full of vampires. The harsh truth about voters isn't going down any easier at FR.

How can the gun-controlling, abortion-supporting, gay-friendly Rudy Giuliani be 25 percentage points ahead of John McCain, his nearest GOP presidential competitor, in the latest Newsweek poll?

One liberal and one rino, put the support of both together and you will have a demorat in the white house, since neither can win.

Evangelicals gave us Carter and Clinton. Now they want to shove Giuliani down our throats.

I know that excites the extreme left wing loons here at FR, but count me out.

He knows - as the other Republicans are now realizing - that, all things being equal, wartime leadership is the most important issue for evangelicals.

FALSE.

Evangelicals recognize that war is perpetual but not all battles are with visible enemies.

Evangelicals know that all things are not equal--God is sovereign.

Evangelicals know that SPIRITUAL leadership is the most important issue and that 'blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.'

Evangelicals know that if Rudy and his ilk are 'Republicans' then the GOP has been hijacked and must either be liberated from their clutches--or abandoned--MUCH PREFERABLY the former.

This article would have more weight if it was written and published outside of Rudy's hometown. What are the Red State papers writing about Rudy?

As a Duncan Hunter supporter I am choosing to no longer engage in debate on the Rudy Giuliani threads on Free Republic. As a freeper I am disappointed that there are fans of a liberal presidential candidate trying to push socially liberal views on this socially conservative forum. In particular, I have noticed that the Rudy G fans do not answer posts questioning the qualitative substance of their candidate, or the posts are met merely with insults.

Statement of Jim Robinson, Founder of Free Republic:

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc.
