NEW YORK - Barack Obama has been criticized for not being "black enough" because he isn't descended from slaves.
Another genealogist, Bruce Harrison, traced Obama's roots and found:
“The Family Forest® shows Senator Barack Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, having a number of her ancestral pathways leading back to early colonial Virginia and New England, and some extend back for many centuries into Europe,” Harrison points out.

Well lets just check other Presidents and presidential candidates ancestry to see if there was slave ownership.
Anyone tracing their lineage back far enough (assuming ANYONE in that lineage was talented and achieved a power status) will find that their ancestors "owned slaves"!

Reitwiesner's research identifies two other presidential candidates, Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona and former Democratic Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, as descendants of slave owners. Three of McCain's great-great-grandfathers in Mississippi owned slaves, including one who owned 52 in 1860. Two ancestors of Edwards owned one slave each in Georgia in 1860.
