And this from a guy who has been an outspoken opponent of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. LOL.
You're right that there was somewhat more economic freedom then, but that depended on race and sex to a great extent. Also there was less freedom of speech and association, back then.
Overall a wash -- and a lot depends on who you are.
wrong
Well, hillary has a known totalitarian bent, and Rudy [as far as is known] does not. Thus, if elected, the harm and damage he could and would cause, would be minimal, or tolerable, which cannot be said of hillary. It's not like he is ideal candidate [he's not], or could not be improved upon [he can], but the realistic alternatives are still worse. The lesser evil is a good, as Machiavelli used to teach.
Really? Care to present anything that contradicts that statement?
Where would you go for health care, the US or someplace else?
If its major bucks and insurance doesn't cover it, Bumrungrad. Which is in Bangkok.
Anti-Gun----------------Anti-Gun
Pro-Abortion------------Pro-Abortion
Gay-Loving--------------Gay-Loving
Looks awful in a dress---Ditto
I could go on but the Rudy-Lickers will continue to be in love with the smell of his backside no matter what.
If he gets the nomination I'm staying home for the first time ever or voting libertarian for the first time ever.
It won't make a nickel's worth of difference who wins.
Are you kidding me? Even many of Rudy Giuliani's strongest supporters will tell you that his tenure in New York City was often marred by his "totalitarian bent."
Anyone who doesn't understand this should do some research on his actions in the aftermath of the infamous scene at the 1998 Labor Day Parade in Broad Channel, Queens.
This statement exemplifies how far into the garbage heap FR will permit itself to be dragged.
"Well, hillary has a known totalitarian bent, and Rudy [as far as is known] does not"
Research my magazine vs the city of new york.
Basically he couldn't stand a magazine poking fun at him in an ad so he decided to toss the 1st amendment out the window. He lost the case.
And several others on 1st amendment grounds.
i was born and grew up in thucking USSR. Thus I know a totalitarian when I see one, and could smell them even when they are downwind. Their modus operandi is "rules are for thee, but not for me - I'm from the master race!". Now, that motto fits hillary to a "t", and were she/it to speak russian, I would swear that she/it would be indistinguishable from a commie nomenklaturist of whom I've seen quite a few. Of Rudy I cannot say that.
Who you nominating, Child?
We have the strong impression you don't like Rudy.
I am not a Giuliani supporter, but I appreciate his pro-America, American pride attitude. I am tired of hearing this great nation bashed. I think a positive message was one of Reagan's greatest attributes.
It depends. If you are a white man, your freedom has been on the wane for 200 years. If you are a black man or a woman, your freedom has been increasing more or less steadily.(This is not meant to imply it needed to be a zero sum btw. It just has turned out that way.).
That having been said, I would hold that most people could find a time in the past when their lives would have been less blighted by a metastasizing federal malignancy such as we have today.
Rudy is extremely anti-gun .
he's gonna be sinking, and soon.
Very true .
