HAMILTON Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones wants Mexico to "show him the money" for the local costs in fighting recent illegal drug traffic coming from south of the border.
A letter has been sent to Mexican President Felipe Calderon along with a bill for $61,141.25. Jones says that is fair compensation for costs related to a recent drug bust where deputies netted more than 50 pounds of marijuana they believe came from Mexico.
"It would really be nice if they pay, but I honestly don't think they will," Jones said. "My real goal is to get their attention and make them want to do something about this. I am angered at all the problems that I am forced to face and Butler Countians are forced to pay for. Someone needs to stand up and say 'enough is enough.' I guess I'm the guy that's supposed to do that.
"If they (Mexico) don't want to pay my bill. I'd be willing to settle for their help in slowing the drug traffic and sealing the border."

Give 'em hell, Sheriff Rick!
Turn the account over to a Collection Agency, then place a property lien against the White House.
I know a guy who did this to Wells Fargo in San Francisco, got the lien placed, and was prepared to legally haul away the Montgomery Street HQ Stagecoach replica had they not paid!
Ping!
If you want on, or off this S. Texas/Mexico ping list, please FReepMail me.
I used to live in Butler county. Those were the days. Now I have to deal with the likes of Obama and Blagojevich. (it's only temporary.)
I hope he is adding interest!
Tomorrow's headline? "U.S. DOJ to charge Ohio sheriff. Offers SSNs, stipends to undocumented Mexican citizens for testimony. Sheriff facing 11 to 12 years. . . . "
Ping!
Now why hasn't Sheriff Joe thought of that???
Sheriff Joe don't need to bill Mexico, he's saving money by taking away their cable and feeding them green baloney!
Got an instructions page? That's kinda kewl.
Sheriff Jones has a blog: http://www.butlersheriff.org/blog/
Worth checking out from time to time.
Below are two separate governmental agencies in two separate states. Their both assigned to enforce the law of their state and local jurisdiction. Yet one agency is seemingly flaunting its failure to meet its law enforcement assignment.
The first commentary is a purposeful piece of information one would expect to read on the official blog of the Butler County Sheriff's Office in Ohio:

Illegals helping illegals!
Here is the story
A major Butler County Sheriffs Office operation culminated last night in what is believed to be the largest fraudulent document bust ever in the State of Ohio and possibly the nation. The fraudulent documents seized included:
Permanent Resident Alien Cards (Green Cards)
Social Security Cards
State of Ohio ID Cards
Thousands of blanks used to create the fraudulent documents
If all these materials were processed and sold, they could easily have an estimated street value of more than $500,000.
Arrests were made in the City of Hamiltons Fourth Ward after undercover officers purchased several fraudulent Social Security and Permanent Resident Alien cards. The three men arrested are illegal aliens and now face more than 12 felony charges.
The men have been identified as Nicolas Juan Santiago originally of Mexico, Ernesto Escalante-Bartolon originally of Guatemala, and Gregorio Cruz originally of Mexico.
This is my view
Here we are in the middle of the U.S. and we have uncovered one of the largest fake ID operations in the country for some time. It is totally out of control and I believe one agency can make a difference as we have in Butler County, Ohio. Ive always known that fraudulent IDs were being made for illegal aliens but I didnt expect to them to be made BY illegal aliens and so far from the borders!! Looks like its time to get even tougher. Stay tuned.

FREEPER's NOTE : Compare the manner in which the above news item was prepared with a similar criminal activity coming from a different police agency in California; bearing in mind that I attempted to learn the identities of the two alleged criminals as well as their residency status. I was corrected by a 'commander' (other than the one named in the story) when I asked if the arrestees were 'aliens'. "We don't use the word alien. "They're immigrants" he said. The Commander wouldn't respond to my question about their ".....immigrant...." status, and like the reporter, I was stonewalled on the names of the two arrested "....immigrants....".
Notice also the presumption given to the arrestees as 'local members of the community' by the use of the term "....Gilroyans....". The reporter doesn't say how she learned of this, but so what, right? To the casual reader two local bad guys got busted for forgery. Mexican illegals? We are own you! We don't need no stink'in gringo ID's!!! :
Two Gilroyans Arrested in Connection With Major ID Theft, Forgery Ring
Tuesday, February 13, 2007
By Marilyn Dubil
Morgan Hill - Two Gilroy suspects arrested in Morgan Hill Sunday may be part of a large identity theft and forgery ring, according to Morgan Hill police Cmdr. Joe Sampson.
The names of the 24-year-old Hispanic male and 36-year-old Hispanic female are not being released now because the investigation into the alleged ring is ongoing, involving several law enforcement agencies, Sampson said.
Though specific details about the investigation could not be released at this time, the alleged ring may involve numerous suspects.
Officers responded to the Safeway grocery store in Tennant Station shopping center at approximately 10:20am after the manager reported the pair were attempting to cash $400 in gift cards.
The manager notified police after discovering the gift cards had been purchased with stolen credit cards. Sampson said Morgan Hill police officer Bill Norman recognized the woman from a prior investigation, and each of the suspects had an outstanding warrant.
They were booked into Santa Clara County Jail. The woman was arrested for the warrant and on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, as well as charges of burglary, possession of stolen property and violation of probation.
The man was arrested for the warrant and on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The ongoing investigation into the ring involves the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, the United Narcotics Enforcement Team (UNET) and the Gilroy Police Department, as some of the crimes may have been committed in Gilroy. "This is really quite a significant deal," Sampson said.
Identity theft is a growing problem across the nation. In many cases, identity theft, fraud and forgery are tied to illegal drugs.
