Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York are leading their respective primaries in South Carolina, according to a poll by Winthrop University released today.
Pollsters asked 694 people their opinions of the current candidates.
Clinton led with a nearly 82 percent favorable rating among Democrats over John Edwards, who had 70 percent, and Barack Obama, who had 67 percent.
Giuliani led Republicans in the polls with 76 percent favorable rating within the party. John McCain had a 57 percent favorable rating.
Forty percent of those polled were not familiar with Mitt Romney.
The Winthrop Poll for spring was conducted via telephone between Feb. 7 and Feb. 28, with 694 randomly selected South Carolinians age 18 and up. The results have a margin of error of plus or minus 3.72 percent.
The S.C. Democratic primary is Jan. 29 and the Republican primary is tentatively Feb. 2
((((RUDY PING))))
Just wait until they find out his positions on the issues. Then his support will collapse. Any day now, I tell ya. /s
Impossible. No way Rudy plays well in the South.
;-)
LOL! Yea just name recognition. I recognize you - you are that guy - you know who!
What will their opinion be in 11 months when they actually vote?

Just 33% of Americans approve
by Jeffrey M. Jones
GALLUP NEWS SERVICE
PRINCETON, NJ -- The latest USA Today/Gallup poll shows continued low approval ratings for George W. Bush. Thirty-three percent of Americans approve and 63% disapprove of the job Bush is doing as president, according to the March 2-4, 2007 survey. That is just two percentage points above his personal low of 31% from May 2006. Bush's support among Republicans has slipped to 70%, just two points above the low-water mark for his party base, also in May 2006.
You know once they see those cross dressing photo's it's all over!!!!... :)
He'll never win the south. He's a Northeasterner! ;-)
It's a poll about favorability ratings. That's a new one to me. Totally worthless.
I challenge that. Giuliani can communicate what America is doing for civilization in a way that other candidates cannot. And moving from the cognitive to the emotional, 911 is seared into the brain of every American, whether they like it or not. Talking about 911 puts Iraq and the consequences of failure in context.
You don't know SC politics very well. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Worse, he is a New Yawker!!!!
I don't think I claimed to know them well, but thanks... I am enjoying it!

Sorry if talking 9/11 was a winner, Bush would have 90% approval. The surge course correction has to work. Iraq has to stand up so we can start to stand down.

What was that they kept saying here on FR? Oh yea. The only poll that counts is on election day. Think I'll wait for that one.
Oh that's why I keep getting hot flashes!
