Iraqi soldiers opened fire on an alleged would-be suicide bomber as he sped towards the checkpoint into Baghdad's al-Yarmuk neighborhood on Tuesday, killing him before the explosive-laden car could crash into the outpost. Two soldiers and one policeman were wounded.
The Democrats are deeply saddened...
bttt
....how many virgins for a valiant try?????.....
I cringe every time I see the word "alleged" inserted into a sentence. It implies there there is some uncertainty. If he was not a suicide bomber, then why is he driving around in an "explosive-laden" car?
Asked to comment on the engagement by Iraqi soldiers, Congressman John Murtha was heard to say "It's a quagmire, we can't win, and the Iraqi soldiers should be redeployed to Okinawa!" This was said as Murtha was being led gently away by Speaker Pelosi, to a sequestered area of the House...
Cue Daniel Powter "Had A Bad Day" track
Don't forget Goober. I'm sure he's doin alotta soul searchin today.
....LOL....
Could we have a link to the news article?

did the car explode AFTER he was shot?? the car in the pic certainly looks like it blew up, but the guy in the front seat with the hole in the back of his head shouldn't be there if in fact the car blew itself to smitherines..he should be in 100 different pieces methinks..

Do not underestimate this aspect of ROE changes in "the Surge".
A lot of Iraqi units are spotty, but some are very good. And others are gaining confidence as we speak. NOTHING builds confidence more than engaging and succeeding. There's a bit of bragging going on in that Iraqi unit today, and it ought to be encouraged.
HEADLINE: "SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACKS, ONE DEAD".
The Iraqi Army is still far too small. By the end of the year it will be at about 200,000 troops.
I personally think Iraq needs a 300,000 strong man Army. Before the war Iraq had half a million man force.
Bremer the idiot disbanded the Army and did a half assed job putting together a new one. We only got serious about it after he left Iraq.
Okinawa, Japan.
And nobaody in the MSM has taken on how utterly demented and batbrained this concept is.
- To re-engage in Iraq from Okinawa by air, you would have to fly 6,000 miles, over the heart of China, over Tajikistan, over Iran. If you fly around these countries, it is further from Okinawa to Iraq than it is from McGuire AFB in New Jersey to Iraq.
By sea, you have go south through the pirate and spy-ridden waters of the Malacca Strait, a distance of some 9,000 sea miles from Okinawa to Basra, doable in about thirteen days.
And this doesn't even touch the issue with the Japanese of housing 130,000 extra troops on their soil "to be able to rapidly react to the situation in Iraq."
Murtha's a moron, couldn't pass an 8th-grade geography class. And his MSM sheep are even worse.
...3,9776 to go.
