Defense gets to have a say in this as well. Libby left his attorney's little room to work with here it seems.

Jury selection is a big problem in our justice system. A random jury pool should be selected, and aside from any blatant conflict of interest (knows the defendant, has stock in the plaintiff company, etc.) they should sit on the jury.

It's impossible for a Republican to get a fair trial in DC. I read somewhere where DC is more than 80% demoncrat. I doubt there was a single Republican on the jury.

The jury was arguably stupid as well. One of the questions the jury asked the judge is, "Is it illegal for Libby to lie to a newspaper reporter?"

As Vince Suprinowicz says, "Voir dire" is French for 'stacked jury.'" However, in DC, I doubt the prosecution had to work too hard to stack the jury. The Washington Compost and the rest of the liberal media had already poisoned the jury pool.
