Libby's retarded lawyer chose to make Rove the evil behind all this. No wonder he lost. He should have gone after the idiots in the media who pushed this story like Joe Wilson.

Seems like an episode from the Twilight Zone to me. Guilty of a crime that was not committed? Where did they find these jurors? Is there a "Morons-R-Us" in that district?
It's a major Clinton M.O. -- just ask Roy Hale, Billy Dale, Dan Lasater, Jim Guy Tucker. Just about everyone who could ever seriously hurt the Clintons with inside info has remained loyal, gone to prison, or died suddenly.
So much fodder for the appeal ... and when will we put the "Special Prosecutor Law" out of its misery once and for all?

I didn't follow the Libby trial much, but this statement is just ignorant. Federal court procedures for jury selection are strict and fair. Each side has exactly the same chance of picking a jury favorable to their case. Very little. You can weed out those with obvious bias and conflicts, but that's about it.
Maybe this jury convicted Libby because there was considerable evidence of his guilt? That's what usually happens.
His lawyer didn't do Libby any good by hinting in his opening argument that Libby and Cheney would take the stand, then NOT calling them as witnesses. Then he fell back on the lame "don't convict him, he's a nice guy" argument in his closing. You ought to get better lawyering for $700 an hour.

But they allow someone who is the better jury picker to bias the jury as a whole. I don't think talent in jury picking should be a factor in the outcome of a case.

That's what I think. The Plame case may be a sham, but he lied in front of a grand jury, and our justice system should never tolerate that.

As Vince Suprinowicz says, "Voir dire" is French for 'stacked jury.'" However, in DC, I doubt the prosecution had to work too hard to stack the jury. The Washington Compost and the rest of the liberal media had already poisoned the jury pool.
Pflame and Wilson should have been prosecuted for being nepotistic defrauders of their positions. Immediately from the time of that column. And a lot more should have been made of the fact that the supposed victims were extremely loose with the lips themselves.
