WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby has been found guilty on four of five counts in his perjury and obstruction of justice trial.
Libby, 56, faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and a fine of $1 million.
Libby was convicted of:
obstruction of justice when he intentionally deceived a grand jury investigating the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame;

perjury when he lied in court about his conversation with Russert;
a second count of perjury when he lied in court about conversations with other reporters.

There we agree! There are a lot of Democrat liars who deserve the same treatment (William Jefferson of Louisiana comes to mind). All I am saying is that I am glad to see the justice system working when it is applied.
How about Sandy Burglar, BJ Clinton, and the Hillary?
There are probably numerous other Dems that could be (or should have been) nailed for their crimes, many worse than Scooter's.
P.S. I think in one of my previous post called Fitzgerald Fitzpatrick oops, my bad.
Yep - I couldn't figure out where that statement came from. The only exception are witnesses who have been granted immunity by the prosecution. They CAN be compelled to testify. This does not apply here.
They didn't do a damned thing when they had the power. Why are they surprised now ?
And what happened there? Dennis Hastert DEFENDS the guy. Sickening.
I know, I guess we just keep hoping that something will change. It doesn't.
They did that to Martha Stewart. Maybe they were just greasing the skids....
I don't understand either why many Pubbies can't play hardball. That's why I like Jack Bauer I guess.
Our only hope is to fantasize about superheroes apparently.
Your screen name says it all. That may be the only place for justice.
LOL! I am feeling very restless and angry today--didn't mean to shout, but darn, I'm so sick of supporting a party that won't fight for themselves or their supporters. I will be better tomorrow, I hope. :O)
I agree, all of those Dems are probably guilty of all kinds of stuff and I hope that if they are, cases are assembled against them and that they go down. I think unfortunately in the case of Clinton that it seems as if there was nothing he could be nailed for during Ken Starr's time, or he would have found something more than he did. But there was a lot AFTER which could have been looked at twice, that's for sure.
I just feel the opposite of how I did when O.J. was found not guilty, and that is a good thing. I feel like Scooter did lie, and that he was caught. In some strange way, that makes me feel good. It makes me feel that there are consequences in this country, and that people can find justice. If the Republicans on the Hill are smart, they will not make a mockery of this the way Fox News has in the last few minutes, acting like this somehow undermines our system. It BOLSTERS our system, I think, and I hope that the GOP turns the page by embracing the verdict. (Not Bush, who should stand by his friend, but the other GOP who will be up for election in just a couple years.)
I am not sure I agree with you that he lied. I am not willing to concede that point. I can't see why this even went to trail other than Fitzfong having to justify his continuing investigations when the truth was already known? For the record, I didn't think that Martha Stewart should have been tried either, a fine would have sufficed in her case. Maybe I missed something, I didn't follow the case that closely because I knew the outcome from the day the trail began. It disgusted me.
the bush administration
giving a pass to clinton, berger, jefferson, etc. and then caving into this sham prosecution
unbelievably pathetic wimps
gam zeh ya'avor, gam zeh ya'avor, gam zeh ya'avor...
I'm hoping the judge has some cajones and throws out the verdict on a motion by the defense. Of course, these days, from where I sit, the only cajones in the greater D.C. area are in the V.P.'s office.
God, where was Billy Dale's jury when you needed them.
