RUDY: SHE'S NO EVIL STEPMOM; DEFENDS JUDI FROM HIS SON'S PARENT RAP (Judi's bitter divorce saga)
NY POST ^ | March 6, 2007 | GEOFF EARLE with Maggie Haberman

Posted on 03/06/2007 3:27:51 AM PST by Liz

Rudy Giuliani vigorously defended his wife, Judith, as the perfect stepmom just days after his son, Andrew, revealed he doesn't get along with her. "My wife, Judith, is a loving and caring mother and stepmother," Giuliani told reporters after a meeting with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and county sheriffs.....he stood foursquare behind his wife, whose highly public relationship with Giuliani began while he was still married to the mother of his two kids.

Andrew Giuliani bluntly disclosed.... "There's obviously a little problem that exists between me and his wife." Sources familiar with the difficult relationship between the Giuliani kids and their stepmom said it started deteriorating before the couple married June 2003, but went south quickly after the wedding.

Giuliani's kids had hoped to carve out time to spend with their dad alone as things got worse, but he opted against it, the sources said.

At the same time, Rudy was involved in the life of Judith's daughter, Whitney, and even spoke at her graduation from York Preparatory school in May 2004. Sources say Giuliani has not visited Andrew at Duke, and that his relations with Caroline also are strained....even worse than with his son. Before she wed Giuliani, Judith went through a bitter court fight with Bruce Nathan over who would have custody of their daughter. Her ex-husband filed court papers in 2001 that said his daughter ran away from her mother when she was 16 and voluntarily moved in with him during the time when her mother was regularly at Giuliani's side in public while he was trying to get a divorce from Hanover.

No family is perfect. I cannot and would not tolerate 2 things in a marriage, cheating and beating. You engage in either or both of those things I have zero respect for that person. I do think that his wife was probably a biatch and the marriage was not perfect, but leave don't cheat.

"Ask the other FReepers who support Rudy, and I have a hunch they will tell you the same thing."

These are the infinitesmal 1% that polled they will support the lisping liberal twit, no matter what he does (aganst the 88% who said they have a problem with a dad not attending his son's graduation).

I wish the Rudeniks good luck with that.

We have been fortunate, for the last six years, to have had a President with a fine family. That is important. To realize how it makes a difference, contrast it with eight years of Clinton drama.

And, to those who bring up the Reagans; Yes, they had a daughter who was a little bit of a problem child. I didn't really like that, either. But President and Mrs. Reagan had been happily married for twenty-eight years on election day in 1980. Mrs. Reagan was an outstanding first lady.

Rudy, on the other hand, has been married to his third wife, Judith Nathan, since 2003. Nathan carried on an affair with Giuliani for several years before his marriage to Donna Hanover ended. While some might disagree with me that a first lady should not be the type of woman who would carry on with another woman's husband, there is no doubt that Giuliani's family life is a problem.

Were he to be elected President, the country would get a steady dose of his family drama, which we honestly do not need in the White House.

Sad that you would think the Mayor of the most important city in America ought to have stayed home and coddled his two teens rather than attend the funerals of the uniformed service personnel who died in the service of their city.

I suppose he couldn't take one afternoon off from going to all those funerals, could he? However, when reading the sdtory, I find ths...

At the same time, sources said, he was involved in the life of Judith's daughter, Whitney, and even spoke at her graduation from York Preparatory school in May 2004.

Were there still 9/11 funerals going on in May 2004?

Nice take.

Social conservatives abhor this type of behavior. Those conservatives who support family values MUST be silenced.......the Extrme Makeover Plan for the Repuub party is beginning to be more visible.

Rudy is the linchpin in The Plan to dump social conservatives overboard. The goal is to remake the Republican party into a Democratic clone.

Do we really need a second Democrat party?

This IMO is what the Clintons have done for years. They have stayed together, but he has cheated on her countless times and she has turned a blind eye to it. He has put up with her less than warm personality. They have chosen to be miserable for their own political ambitions. BTW, I am not in favor of divorce, but it is obvious to everyone that theirs is a marriage in name only, in spite of the fact that the DBM portrays it as an idyllic "power union".

"I am at a complete loss to understand your thought process."

You prior comments to me in your post indicate that maybe you are either unable or unwilling to understand my thought process. I'm probably wasting my time here but if it helps you understand better it may be worth it.

First of all, I never said Rudy should have stayed home and coddled his two teens rather than attend the funerals...." I really don't respect people who try to twist someone's comments around to mean something totally different than what they said. I totally support Rudy going to all of those funerals. He made America proud after 9/11. I'm not one of those who criticizes how Rudy handled the 9/11 events. He did a great job in my opinion.

Here is where I have a problem. Why is it that Rudy could go to all of these funerals and hold hands with all of these widows, widowers, and children who lost their parents, but could not invest time with his own kids by going to their school events, or visit his son at college, etc? He had time to go to his present wife's daughter's graduation, but he didn't have time to visit his two kids in college? Was Rudy incapable of spending time with his kids while at the same time taking care of his city? If so, what does that say about his qualifications for the job as president? Not much if you ask me.

All families have their problems, I am sympathetic to that, but I am not sympathetic to the fact that Rudy's didn't have time to invest in his own flesh and blood while serving as mayor in NYC. That's my thought process. If you still have a problem understanding it then all it tells me is that Rudy is your guy and there is nothing he could ever do that would wrong in your eyes.

I am still freaked out and stuck on this. Until that is addressed, everything else is meaningless. It is in the hands of people who are suppose to do something about it; until it is, I've no interest in any of this election nonesense. This is the litmous test of my faith in our government and security.

The fact that the kid didn't want his father to attend his graduation has absolutely NO influence whatsoever on my support. Ask the other FReepers who support Rudy, and I have a hunch they will tell you the same thing.

It would make no difference to you guys if your boy was a serial killer or a pedophile. All you evidently care about is BUT HE CAN BEAT HILLARY.

The Reagan's did have probably the Best marriage I have ever seen I am not disputing that. But they did have some problems with some of their kids. IMO every family does and it's a non issue, but people on both sides did make a big (and some still do) deal out of it.

And as far as Mrs. Nathan goes, Whether Rudy or Hildebeast wins, their will be a adulterer for the First Spouse, the only difference is one will be a former commander in chief who was complicit in allowing our nation to be attacked, committing perjury, and selling state secrets to the CHICOMS, and the other is just a skank. And she wont demand to be "co-presidents" either.

And here's what she'll be saying after the election...

Dear RINO Rudy Supporters,

I want to thank you for your wonderful support in helping to get me elected POTUS. Bill and I are so thrilled to be back in the White House again. Your active support for Rudy, and getting him nominated, was the key to me winning. Without your help Bill and I would not be here today.

Affectionately Yours,

President Hillary Rodman

P.S. I plan to nominate Rudy to the Supreme Court as soon as there is a vacancy. He will help us tilt the court back in our favor to assure that millions more unborn babies will never see the light of day. After all, it's every woman's right!

P.S.S. As you recall, my campaign slogan was, "We're Going to Take Things Away From You on Behalf of the Common Good" ALL YOUR POSSESIONS BELONG TO ME---YEEHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

"...however I don't see how those actions would affect my fathers ability to run a business or Rudy's to govern the Nation."

Lack of trust ruins any relationship. I didn't believe a damn thing Clinton said to us, and therefore didn't support a damn thing he did. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to believe my President for the last six years, and I would rather keep it that way.
