Edwards: Jesus Would Be 'Appalled' at U.S.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards says Jesus would be appalled at how the United States has ignored the plight of the suffering, and that he believes children should have private time to pray at school.

Edwards, in an interview with the Web site Beliefnet.com, said Jesus would be most upset with the selfishness of Americans and the country's willingness to go to war "when it's not necessary."

"I think that Jesus would be disappointed in our ignoring the plight of those around us who are suffering and our focus on our own selfish short-term needs," Edwards told the site. "I think he would be appalled, actually."

Edwards also said he was against teacher-led prayers in public schools, but he added that "allowing time for children to pray for themselves, to themselves, I think is not only OK, I think it's a good thing."

In the interview, the former North Carolina senator discussed how he lost touch with his day-to-day faith during college, but that it "came roaring back" after the death of his 16-year-old son, Wade, in 1996.

The inapropriateness of his remarks aside, he speaks of Jesus as though He is dead.

He is not dead, He is risen!

John Edwards is certainly a rich youngish looking man. Wonder what Jesus would tell him to do?

And pantywaists in our own movement are criticizing Ann for calling Edwards a name?

Beautiful. These guys are idiots, and I love it.

Where do you begin with this? Do you begin with the number of free nations in the world today won by the blood of young Americans and our Allies?

Or do you start with the fact that by any measure you care to propose, the US leads the world in private philanthropy?

You think Jesus would be upset about his party's stand on suffering the little children? How about the one's not quite clear of mommies labia?

He must still think he's in front of one of those juries where the Oprah Winfrey Show comprises informed debate of the weighty issues of the day.

Not sure Hillary's got the legs to get the nomination, so it may come down to the Breck Girl and Obama (Osama, Orama?).

One can only dream.

Whatever Ann said has been wiped away by this. Insulting someone is one thing. Blaspheming is another.

Correction. He is just repeating what a far left Earl Warren led USSC said as they legislated their personal whim of how the U.S. should have interpretted the Constitution for the last two centuries.

The founding states were all wrong, but his majesty Earl Warren, the anointed, suddenly tossed out all legal history and shot from his liberal hip. That is who Sir Edwards and all other liberals are following.

Look at this clear cut to make room for his house...

Wonder if Al-a-gory is ticked that one of his own is reducing the earth's capacity to convert CO2 to O2?

I didn't realise the Democrat Bible said the Lord had smelly, runny cheese at the Last Supper.

Jesus would be concerned with the hearts of man. A country is not exactly a heart. He would have had more concerns about how individuals cared for the poor than for how a country did so.

"Edwards: Jesus Would Be 'Appalled' at U.S."

Naaaaah.
Jesus would be appalled at John Edwards and his insane ambulance chasing, and exploitation of medical victims for pure greed.
