I Have Seen the Future: It Is Giuliani (Red State.com)
Red State.com ^ | 3/5/07 | Eric Erkickson

Today I have seen the future and that future is President Rudy.

It's not that I'm voting for Rudy, but the vacuum to be filled has been filled.

Consider this:

Rudy Giuliani and Tony Snow are the only guys who have had to have fire marshals bar people from entering due to overcapacity in a very big room.

In the green room, Giuliani's speech was the only one to cause everyone to sit down, shut up and watch.

More and more, the conservatives at CPAC are realigning. You have the Brownback folks, the Mitt folks, and the people who are headed quickly to Rudy. And you know what? They are more or less cheerful in doing it.

They've found the guy who knows he needs them to get in the door. They know the calculus Rudy has made -- the conservatives aren't selling out their principles; Rudy is telling them he won't impose his social view on them, but he'll keep them safe.

After all, abortion is not an issue when a terrorist has killed you.

Look for all guns to turn on Rudy now. He's been the frontrunner all along and now the rest of the pack realizes it.

The reception he got at CPAC should worry them.

You are full of assumptions and presuppositions that are wrong, wrong, wrong.

Abortion is always murder. At no time is it ever justified. Ever.

The general way one approaches choices between 2 candidates who each hold the wrong views is to choose the one who appears to be the most pro-life, pro-liberty and pro-the pursuit of happiness.

There are times when the leading 2 choices are so execrable that it is necessary to vote for a third party candidate and to do all you can to rally for that candidate. There are times when your Party betrays you and you vote for the opposition who just happens to be pro-life, pro-liberty, pro-the pursuit of happiness. It is rare but it does happen on blue dog days.

I too am concerned about the level of venom on the forum. Like you, I haven't picked anyone to back (and I probably won't, as my primary will occur after the candidate probably will have it sewn up).

Many days I find other things to do rather than read FR, especially when the posts are just one "pro-Candidate X and bash Candidate Y" thread after another. I have been here since 1998, and this is even worse than the battles during the 2000 primaries.

Miss Marple, this is the first time I've really been worried about this forum.

We're both veterans of many wars here. It's the good folks who are telling me in freepmail that they're bagging it. The venom, senseless venom, is just too much.

I'm not sure what can be done about that. Attacks, spam, and most any post is allowed to stand regarding Giuliani, but in a spirit of fairness, it's allowed to stand against everyone else, too.

So, we have the shootout at the OK Corral, except it's going to last 20 months. I don't have a good feeling about this.

Barring something major, Giuliani or Romney will be somewhere on the ticket.

After all, abortion is not an issue when a terrorist has killed you.

But, border security and enforcement of immmigration laws are an issue when a terrorist has killed you. In Rudy's past record you can see that he defied the law and created a 'sanctuary city'. Now he will be able to create a sanctuary country.

I bet most Congressmen couldn't pick Duncan Hunter out of a lineup. Expecting him to win in a crowded Republican field is crazy.

A team effort will be needed to get everything done--and it begins with the top-of-the-ticket victory--which must be an electoral, not a moral, one.

Congrats on the E Mail Phil : )

Recognition is the key here.
The North American P 51 Mustang began as a breakthru airframe design,
it had potential...but was lacking in a few area's
most surrounded its Allison engine which lacked power at higher altitudes.....limited its performance.
Britian having recieved the early version Mustangs went with Rolls-Royce engineers in putting the Supermarine Spitfires Merlin 61 engine into the Mustang .
after...the Legend was born
It is said that Hermann Georing knew the Reichs days were numbered when U.S. P-51's were seen over Berlin.
The war would continue...but the writing was indeed in the sky.

As your E Mail maintains,....The Republican party must win,...and not allow Hitlery and the Dem Reich to surrender gains and place America in Grave Jeopardy.

The Spitfire and Hurricane won the Battle of Britian,...but they did not have the working range that the P 51 Mustang did.
Other GOP Candidates have excellent skills and would be good choices
but they do not have the range....as you point out,..and that others here see clearly.

Recognizing potential.....recognizing Victory

The election is 21 months away. Just wait until things heat up from the spotlight being on him. He'll meltdown faster than Howard Dean.

The wartime metaphor is very apt. The negotiating phase was over in 1938-9. Diplomacy had had its day. The outcome would henceforth be dictated by blood and iron, will and ideas.

The auto plants retooled for tank and aircraft production. The citizens rationed sugar and tires and gas. The allied freedom of maneuver outflanked the axis dependence on central command.

The phrase, "Don't you know there's a war on?" was the capper.

Londonistan indicates it has already been lost in Britain.

Churchill was thrown over after leading the nation through the storm.

Now London hatches the likes of the recently captured number two Islam in Iraq figure.

But the Brits are completely on board for all the human rights courts claptrap burbling out of the septic Brussels pit.

Now Rudy's judicial guy Ted Olson says, yes, Rudy would fight for a Janice Rogers Brown.

That's the stuff.

Excellent letter, Phil! And congratulations for getting it on the air. There will definitely be a third party candidate. Hamilton Jordan and Jerry Rafshoon's Unity '08 is working on it as we speak. We'll need record turnout and no stay-at-homes to keep us from a disastrous Hillary regime.

"Come on be realistic if you want to convince people."

You want realistic? Who was the last president elected from NYC? Who was the last mayor? Who was the last pro-abortion, gun-grabbing, gaylovin, freak elected to the presidency?

Realistic enough for ya? Time for you to reestablish your southern roots!

Say hi to Alec Balwin for me, will ya'?

Won't see him, I am sure. Never been attracted to strident, self righteous moralist prudes from the lunatic left....., or their enantiomeric (from chemistry: means 'like a mirror') images on the right. Change a couple of key words and there is no difference sometimes. Same arrogant stupidity, same unthinking kool aid drinking, same "you are with us or you are with the devil" mentality. I can do without either.

Cheers, DoP

Hunter is also the King of Congressional Pork

Please post your proof of this. Last I checked, Hunter was the only one who made public his earmarks, and they were all defense-related.

I have no problem with vigorously promoting and supporting any candidate during the nomination process.

However, once the party has chosen their candidate, we should all gather around that candidate.

The alternative is Hillary or Obama.

To do anything less is just stupid.

That is a great principle, if you believe in the party. It got me to vote for the Bush family four times. No mas. There are worse things than losing.

"Howard Dean was inevitable 2 months before the Iowa Caucus."

That's a good point. Deaniacs and Clarkies would tear into each other day after day on the internet, only to see real life, actual voters go for Kerry.

I hope the same thing does *not* happen with McCain lurking in the background.

I do not like the dopers, the perverts, the gun grabbers, the illegals or the baby killers...

If the GOP nominates someone who has shown they support that filth, they can kiss their a** goodbye.
