Who do we invade first, and which order; North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, China, Syria. How can our elective official determine which countries the American people wish to invade after leaving Iraq??????????
In China the military and military service has never been held in esteem. Confucius ranked the soldier below the peasant, and superior only to the actor and the eunuch, as worthy of respect.
It's not defense that is driving this buildup. Nobody wants any of China's stuff. China claims all the South China Sea and views Australia as its natural expansion territory. They also view most of Russia as theirs by right. They might not consider India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran as theirs although their empire once extended so far and they need oil such as they would control if they got so far as the Tigris River.
