You don't know the definition of the word "smarmy". Go buy a good dictionary and look it up.

And if you cannot cope with smarmy then I am happy to supply unctuous as an equally fitting adjective.

Rudy is running on an abortionist, gay rights, gun control ticket so he can capture the leftist vote. Problem is, the left is antiwar. Why would they vote for Rudy when they can have Hillary?

That is correct.

Rudy Rino will get annihilated in California.

Thats over the top...

nopardons has debated a fair line....as fair as the recent South Carolina straw poll which saw Rudy Win.
2 weeks before...Rudy is in California....or Cali as Arnold says,
speaking key note address on Jan 11 to the Republican Convention he said,

"Presidents have to make decisions and move the country forward. That's the type of president that I would like to be,"

Did South Carolina freak out after hearing that....let Rudy have it in the polls for his presumptiveness : )

answer...No...The they voted for Rudy ....over California Rep Duncan Hunter.

Rudy Wins in SC.... has Gold Rush In California : )

"And in the blue corner, wearing an off the rack suit, Goldwater ’64 lapel pin and a belt 2 sizes too small...weighing in at 140 pounds soaking wet...the fiscal conservatives... Oh please. Giuliani is more like Rockefeller. I'm not quite sure who the Barry Goldwater is, but Giuliani winning would most certainly be like Rockefeller defeating Goldwater in 1964. Also Giuliani has nothing showing he is a fiscal conservative, not with the debt he left New York with. I think he'd pull the "tax cuts for the rich" crap in a heartbeat.

If you want a REAL fiscal conservative, look up Tom Tancredo. Wins the "friend of the taxpayer" award all the time. Was one of only ten or eleven congressman who tried to control spending after hurricane Katrina. One of the few non-porkers in congress (his opponent in 2006, Bill Winter, ran on the fact that Tancredo's district doesn't get much federal money.) Never supported any tax increases, never opposed a tax cut. That is a real proven fiscal conservative. Giuliani is not. Spare us the lies.

Excellent points, NU. When RINO Rudy is forced out of the race, it'll be good for the United States of America to have a contest among conservative candidates.

Keep in mind that in all-important conservative country, Spartanburg, SC, Sir Rudy got beat by Hunter and McCain (by 1% margins).

A bad omen since RINO Rudy was expected to soar to victory after his handlers manipulated the media to pump the RINO's appearance at CPAC.

Rudy's handlers put a lot of resources into SC, knowing it was a crucial public indication of Julie-Annie's conservative standing.

Another bad omen for Rudy----Romney won the CPAC straw poll.

The clock is ticking, Rudy.......your time is almost up.

Weren't you telling us that Arnold was going to help Bush carry CA in 2004? How'd that one work out?

Tne Newsweek article posts were very interesting. Two people posted the same article, one just using Newsweek's main heading, and one with a particular story's sub-heading that could sound more negative about Rudy. But it was the same article.

The one had all the Rudy supporters talking about how great the story was. It was posted by a Rudy supporter.

The other had Rudy supporters pooh-pooing Newsweek. It was posted by a Rudy detracter.

It was the same article.

So far as I could tell, the only differences were which parts of the article were excerpted, and the title of the thread.

I was asked a question by another Freeper and I answered it. I realize its probably not going to happen. I don't need you telling me what is silly to discuss and what isn't.

The painting didn't go anywhere. Rudy threatened to cut public funding for the Brooklyn Art Museum, the Museum countersued and won.

And let's not forget Rudy's other claim to fame as a Repub--being a gun grabber.

That's a Dem position if there ever was one.

Sorry we don't agree, but facts are pesky things.

its a majority of state delegations that decides it, not a majority in the overall chamber.

Excellent points. Still, think that in iff areas , say in Ca., where the races are pretty close, not only Dems will come out to vote for Rudy but it will draw many sleeping Pubs out who don't think that Pubs have a chance in Ca. anymore. The same could be said in NJ. Of course, the top of the ticket draws, but it is those half and half precincts that I am thinking Rudy G would draw out to his and the GOP benefit. Remember,I live in the Soviet Republic of Ca. where this is a possibility. I do not know about Conn. I am not sure there are enough Pubs to draw there anyhow and surely there are not half and half districts except for Shays, Johnson and Rudy would actually help them, would he not?

".....He's like Mike Bloomberg, only Italian and tougher."

What's being "Italian" got to do with anything under discussion. Is that the level of discourse the anti-Rudy people want to sink to?
