Excellent points. Still, think that in iff areas , say in Ca., where the races are pretty close, not only Dems will come out to vote for Rudy but it will draw many sleeping Pubs out who don't think that Pubs have a chance in Ca. anymore. The same could be said in NJ. Of course, the top of the ticket draws, but it is those half and half precincts that I am thinking Rudy G would draw out to his and the GOP benefit. Remember,I live in the Soviet Republic of Ca. where this is a possibility. I do not know about Conn. I am not sure there are enough Pubs to draw there anyhow and surely there are not half and half districts except for Shays, Johnson and Rudy would actually help them, would he not?

The future is hard to predict. But I don't see how Rudy would do better for republicans in California than Arnold, a "republican" governor, did -- and he was no help at all down-ticket, even though the democrats ran pretty awful candidates.
