The court. The war.
Who cares?
Not so-called Conservative non-voters.
We had a chance to change the court for a generation over the next two years.
Conservative non-voters failed America and the Constitution.

An interesting insight into a pretty secretive club. Kudos to the author for being able to gather some of the tidbits that made it interesting.

When she retired, it appeared that Kennedy would begin the lean to the left .....I don't see Roberts or Alito having any lefty tendencies, and with Scalia and Thomas there, it will be interesting to watch since Kennedy always seemed to produce occasional odd opinions. Even more interesting will be to see whether any of the libs on the court will resign prior to the end of Bush's term.

Well, it's interesting: on Thurs. some 40 of us from UD met for about 2 hours with Justice Thomas (this is the second time I've done so in the last two years). Both times he's said the same thing: "Those who write about the Court have absolutely no clue what they are talking about, and almost never have even read the decisions." He also said that he deplored the politicization of the confirmation process, and that it was all about abortion (duh).
But he said three or four times, "Don't believe ANYTHING you read about the Court." He said again that opinions are never, ever changed in oral arguments, and that he has never, ever seen an opinion change in the discussion among the justices, which, he says, is extremely brief. There is absolutely no "one-on-one" buttonholing, either.

I was listening to Dennis Prager interview her and she got "unprecedented" access to the justices and their papers (8 out of the nine justices). I've not read it yet, but it's gotten very good reviews.

Perhaps. But it's interesting Thomas didn't mention her. He did cite several examples of how the reporters were clueless.

Thanks for that interesting post.

Oh I too doubt it....the only way we'll see a vacancy is if one of the 4 meet their maker and despite my political desires, I will not wish that on them.
