Reality: [Ann Coulter] is your biggest star. The people you claim to speak for feel she speaks for them much, much more than you do -- and they're right. She is modern conservatism's id -- she's the one who says what the rest of you would say if you didn't feel it would cost you your standing as reasonable, responsible people.Well?
Want to prove me wrong? You cut her off. You boycott the sponsors of TV shows that still invite her on as a guest. You show up at her book signings and campus appearances and hand out flyers quoting her nastiest bon mots. You boycott CPAC next year if she's invited, and demand that others do the same. Or if you have a problem with boycotts as a matter of principle, at the very least urge your fellow conservatives, on college campuses and elsewhere, to stop extending invitations to her, given the profound harm you say she does to your movement.
But you won't do that, will you? In that case, shut the hell up, hypocrites, and acknowledge that while Coulter may be the bad apple in the family, your door is always open to her.
Which is much worse than being a faggot..
WHich might have been her POINT..
Rudy is the true threat.
The quote I've seen is this:
I was going to say something about John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word faggot.
Unfortunately, that seems pretty clear. Maybe it does better in context, but I can't find her entire speech online.
I would guess that what she meant to say was something like this:
"We live in a culture so ridiculously sensitive to political correctness that someone can be forced to go to rehab just for using a word like "faggot" or "dyke." I'm a long way from being politically correct, so I'd better not tell you what I really think of John Edwards."
But that's not what she said.
LOL!
Ragheads suck. Just a fact.
S-a-a-a-a-y. This could get to be fun!
... meaningless, but fun!
What do you mean 2007??!!??
Ditto. I like Rudy. But not for POTUS. V's wife.(He was a good mayor, but there's a huge difference).
Sorry, I got to sort my socks that day.
However, if you're invited, may I have your autograph?
: )
Bottle it and sell it is my suggestion. I'd get my wife a bottle of it as soon as it hit the market.
Yeah : )
No facts allowed. Please report to rehab posthaste.
Methinks the entire GOP needs MAJOR rehab.
I have been troubled over what I thought was my own "lone voice" in this matter. That is my inner voice. Yes, others have mentioned this previously. Someone kindly rephrased Ann's statement for her. It was to the effect, that since the politically correct climate is so unfairly charged, that the tiniest aside, might bring on the storm. Example if "faggot" brings on the storm, anything about John Edwards at this point could be used to raise a furore.
Ann is the shrewdest person in this. Again and again persons have been backed up against the wall over a comment. They have explained and re-worded what they said. They have apologized. What has been the result?
The sharks closed in with a greater feeding frenzy.
Ann did not fall for that tactic. A redoubtable Canadian feminist did say to the effect. "Don't apologize, don't explain, just get on with it". (Nellie McClung).
I will listen to the Doctor of Democracy tomorrow. Perhaps he can steady the troops. (Laughs).
What candidate in the right mind is going to side with her on this? The idea is to get elected and you will not do that if you cozy up to her. That's what any politician running for office needs and that is to give the left (and he press) ammo to be used against them.
It depends on what your definition of "is" is....
she knew exactly what she was doing and mentioning edwards name with faggot in the same sentance was going to marry the two.
and you are just perpetuating the excuse making.
She's smart enough to know what she was doing and that was link edwards to the term, faggot. She can tap dance around the issue but it's the net effect that matters and she damn well knew this would cause a stink.
She could have used any of a number of terms to whip up on him but she decided to introduce questions about his sexuality.
hmmmm... I don't know for sure....but if I was a betting man, I'd bet he's a fag.
No Republican needs permission from the likes of you or your cadre of RINO supporting mendacious prigs to use wit and innuendo against the political oppositions, let alone a champion like Anne Coulter. Waxing a little Victorian are you?
Well you can F%&K RIGHT OFF AND GO JOIN THE DU.
I remember our conversation about how the state of the world seems to be paralleling the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Anne indeed may be much as you say.
Well Put Sir Frank. Anne acquitted herself well in the Halls of the Mountain King. THe prissy RINOs sought to dominate the court, and Anne laid the whip on them with one sentence.
It may be necessary to promote her from Shield Maiden to elfinhood.
Frodo: " Oh my Goodness, Ann, Edwards IS a Mordor Faggot!"
