There is no difference in endpoint between voting 3rd party or staying home.
There is a huge difference between staying home and voting third party. If the Republican party sees it fit to throw their support behind a gun grabbing pro-gay pro-abortion candidate (among other things), conservatism in this country will not end. One thing that the GOP has forgotten is that conservatism in America is stronger than any political party. That's why it could rise from the ashes of Carter's presidency to save our nation under Reagan.
If you stay home, your voice is silenced. If you show up and vote for the Constitution Party, your voice is heard and you've taken the first step towards ensuring that Conservatism returns to the forefront in America. Just ask the Whigs how perpetual political parties can end.

Yes, voting third party, especially in a Presidential election, is a big deal. It's a big "I'M A RETARD" brand on your forehead.
If you want to build up a third party, start at the dogcatcher office level and progress from there. Actually build a party.
Look at the candidacies of John Anderson or Ross Perot and tell me how they either helped the country or built a party.
Good luck.

What's more self-destructive than pre-9/11 thinking?
Pre-clinton thinking, that's what....Putting doctrinal purity ahead of making sure a defective and dangerous clinton never again controls this country is pre-clinton thinking.
We no longer have the luxury of time or circumstance to massage our sensibilities, to indulge our indignations.
We will not survive another clinton. (We may yet not survive the first one.)
