I EMPHATICALLY do not accept the premise that Rudy is the only one who can beat Hillary--nor the premise that Hillary will even BE the DNC contender in 2008 (likely yes but not certain). I don't condemn those who vote third-party--from a related troubled conscience. I do insist that anyone who stays home and doesn't vote at all is foolish. FOOLISH. It is a stewardship issue, scripturally.

On to other matters. I must reject several of your premises.

First, you seem terrified at your premise that America is MOST at risk if SoCons pull the middle of the bell-shaped curve rightward and Rudy is not the (R) candidate. The reverse is the truth. The goal of Conservatism is not to drift to the morally-relative middle but rather to throw a lifeline of hope, grace and truth to those drifting along without moral anchor (he who hath ears, let him hear). As Rush says, "Conservativsm works every time it's tried."

You keep using the WOT as the single most crucial issue. I pray that from your eyes the blinders will fall. We have OTHER clear and present dangers in addition to the WOT.

"When in Rome, do as the Romans?" The Romans had a fabulous capacity to deal with a WOT via their military--yet collapsed morally--read Gibbon. The Jews in occupied Israel held on hope for fulfulment of God's promise that they would be FREED from Rome, which promise was fulfilled.

Another ancient fact--every 7th and especially every 49th year there was a Year of Jubilee, which is antithetical to Kelo, a huge **fiscal-conservatism** issue that Rudy seems to support.

The Bible is full of cautions against compromising with evildoers. One that comes to mind is in Proverbs and refers to a polluted spring sullied by mud, when the righteous compromise with evil. That is not self-righteous, that's those striving by the Grace of God to walk uprightly. Mr. Imperfect speaking here.

Our Pledge of Allegiance includes the phrase "One Nation Under God" and our Flag symbolizes sovereignty where it is raised. Surely you know something of the vile tyranny that results when any but God is the ultimate sovereign.

If it wasn't a spiritual battle, why would anti-God atheists have conspired to outlaw prayer in schools yet have no problem with Muslim indoctrination on campuses?

If it wasn't a spiritual battle, why would the same folks conspire to outlaw displays of the Ten Commandments on public grounds? I won't belabor this point further.

If you don't believe there is a conspiracy among evildoers, read about Gramsci, just for starters.

Rudy has done some heroic deeds. So did Caligula. But neither have shown anything but favor to those who practice evil.

I respect your opinion and we agree to disagree. But I do think that your dragging the Bible into this discussion is really clouding your judgement as to dealing with the reality of what we face here and abroad in the coming years. (Unless you plan to stay away from all politics in which case you will lose the right to complain if and when Hitlary's jack-booted thugs knock on your door.)

BTW, your Rudy/Caligula comparison is the EXACT kind of unfair, insulting, and over-the-top commentary that ignited me (and many other fair-minded Freepers) recently. It is counter-productive and does nothing but sow division and hard feelings.

With NYC being a sanctuary city for illegals and Rudy for amnesty, that alone is enough not to give any support his way.

What many on FR don't understand, we in Southern Calif.
especially here in San Diego, are at the other front in the War on Terror.
Southern Calif. has million + illegals.
It is costing we tax payers in Calif. over 3 billion a year to support the illegals with health care, food, housing, education and their mega crimes.

We don't need anymore people supporting illegals and the cost both in money and the loss of our heritage.

I am around 20 miles north of the largest and busiest border crossing in the world. San Diego - Tijuana.
The kidnappings, mega milions in drug traffic, beheadings,
and worse has to stop not encouraged.

I don't understand your statements.

  1. There is no difference in endpoint between voting 3rd party or staying home. Either will equally help to elect hillary clinton or whichever D is fielded. The 'stewardship' argument is alluring but illusory.

  2. I don't understand how voting 3rd party eases one's 'troubled conscience' knowing that one's vote is helping to elect hillary clinton or whichever D is fielded.
