Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian, in an abrupt move on Sunday, declared that Taiwan must seek independence.
"On the 25th birthday of FAPA (the Formosan Association for Public Affairs), I want to put forward the 'four musts and one no' call. They are: Taiwan must seek independence, must rectify its name, must have a new constitution and must seek development," Chen said at the dinner party marking the 25th anniversary of founding of FAPA, a US- based pro-independence group formed by overseas Taiwanese.
The island of Taiwan, formerly known as Formosa and officially called the Republic of China, was site of the Chinese Nationalist government-in-exile at the end of the Chinese Civil War in 1949.
In explaining the "four musts and one no," Chen said that Taiwan's seeking independence owed to the country's being a sovereign state, independent of the People's Republic of China, and that independence was common dream and goal of Taiwan's people.
He said the country should apply for membership of the United Nations under the name "Taiwan," frame a new constitution and develop its economy and democracy in keeping with being an independent nation.

Taiwan has no problem being independent, it's American that holds her back because we lack guts when it comes to Red China. Just like we hold back Israel. It is for political reasons, nothing else. There would be NO nuclear threat from Iran if we didn't dictate policy to Israel.
True enough. Again. They wouldn't care.
At least not care enough.
true, but I think this will simmer down somehow - just because I am waiting for Russian and Iran to make a run at Israel as Ezekiel prophesied. That seems to be the next big play on the international stage
could even be what puts the China/Taiwan thing in the back burner temporarily. However, the Kings of the East are due to emerge soon as a major player, and this could be the start.
could be, but a lot of us think the international picture could be significantly altered by then!
Whats supposed to happen in 2012?
Agree with both your posts.
God knows.
Linda denied to another Freeper that she said any such thing to us. But she insisted at the time that we did NOT want to know. She would not even hint.
Since then, there's been a couple of shows on C2C about us passing through the galactic plane at a critical spot where there's tons of gravitational forces or some such which cause massive solar winds which scorch the earth (The Bible mentions that sun scorching the earth in this era); causes the 10 mile bulge at the equator to snap back to spherical--causing the oceans to slosh and obliterate all coastal life; massive quakes and volcanoes . . . etc. etc. etc.
the group of cross discipline scientists from around the world who are convinced of this estimate the timeline between 2008 and 2020.
Interesting times, indeed, as the Chinese would say.
I havent heard this from any scientists. Where can i find this information?
In which direction? More aggressive foreign policy?
How many years a particular party has run Taiwan is, I think, irrelevant to the question of whether or not Taiwan is part of China.
Its not part od communist china. Period. The real chinese government was run out of power by communists thugs(IE murderous mao).Sorry its not theirs.
od=of
Since 1894 Taiwan has'nt even been china.
Since WWII, both sides of the conflict believed that Taiwan was part of China. Perhaps half the population of Taiwan believes that Taiwan ought to remain part of China, but without formal reunification until such time that the mainland becomes more supportive of political and economic freedom. What Chen and the DPP want to do is to rip apart that understanding. It's a recipe for needless war. Hope this helps.
I haven't checked out any of the reported scientists . . . I might have some links. . . from Coast to Coast . . .

I don't know what to think of it.
Some things seem congruent with other puzzle pieces and some not. Won't have long to wait!
Tell that to Beijing.
Actually a lot of the folks on the street would rail at that idea, too.
Its may be,but we need to knock the chicoms down a peg or two they are getting way to belligerent with demands.They have no power over the US. The US doesnt do demands and we crush anyone that has made them on us in the past.
I checked out that website. Come one man its talks about remote viewing(tin foil hat) with science.
one=on
bloody typos...
Oh, it's out there, alright!
LOL.
The remote viewing aspect was just a small part of the over all research effort, reportedly. They just noted that it all agreed with what they'd found otherwise.
