Wife makes strife (Rudy again)
NY Daily News ^ | 3/4/07 | Dave Saltonstall

Rudy Giuliani's shaky family life is being hit with new tremors, as his son Andrew hit the interview circuit confirming that he is estranged from his father - and that the root of the tension is Giuliani's current wife, Judith.

"There's obviously a little problem that exists between me and his wife," Andrew Giuliani, 21, told The New York Times. "And we're trying to figure that out. But as of right now it's not working as well as we would like."

The comments underscored what friends have whispered and Andrew himself has all but acknowledged for more than a year - that relations with his father have been frosty for some time.

As one confidant told the Daily News last year, "I really believe he loves his father. It's just that right now it's still a little difficult to communicate with him."

Andrew said in an interview to be broadcast today on ABC's "Good Morning America" that he and his father went through "a decent amount of time" when they weren't speaking to one another, but they are now trying to work that out.

"No matter what he's done, I love my father," he said. "It's not as good as it once was - but it's better than it was at its lowest."

Andrew said The Times interview was not an attempt to scuttle his father's pursuit of the Republican nomination for President in 2008, saying, "I do not want to hurt him."

Still, the relationship is icy enough that Andrew told The News he would not be campaigning for his father and would instead chase his goal of becoming a pro golfer.

The MSM are saving the real ammo -- if he gets the nomination.

Oh big deal Andrew is getting out of his teen years and trying to make things work with his father. Kudos to him. Not many teenagers get along well with either of their parents. Some do but not many. This is quite normal.

This is no conservative. This guy would be in the left wing of the Democrat party.

I agree. The MSM have tons of bad press for Rudy and/or McCain if either one wins the nomination. You can bet on it!

There are about 50 things now that we all have say "Oh big deal" about to justify supporting Rudy. This one is tiny in comparison.

"There's obviously a little problem that exists between me and his wife,"

That's new how?
Millions of kids don't get on very well with their step-mothers, after their dad and mom get divorced.
This is a non-issue.
Meanwhile, if the Hitlery attack machine want to make an issue of family histories (Roger Clinton, Hitlery's brother and Klinton's pardons anyone?), we are more than ready to take 'em on.

No matter his feelings...it should be handled within their family and trated privately. If he doesn't mean to hurt his father's candidacy he wouldn't have said it out loud for the media scum magnets to jump on. Going on a morning TV show to basically trash your dad at this important time? No way. I wa not raised like that. It's family first and foremost. Shame on Andrew.

Exactly. The media track record proves this. Watch for real fireworks when it counts.

Must be tough having a father that is a notorious adulterer and lacks a moral compass.

Heck, we see how popular Anna Nicole Smith became. The time is ripe for a trainwreck, apparently.

Yep, the media will lay low, when the election is looming, they will do "a Foley" on him. It is hard to believe that many Conservatives will fall for Rudy's liberal ways. As Rush said a few days back, you don't win by changing the definition of Conservative.

Rudy comes with way too much baggage for me to be able to paper over it all.

Damn, I forgot about his ex's Vagina Monologues foray. I'm guessing Rudy supported her choice too.

This abused wife (voter) isn't going home to the abusive alcoholic husband (GOP) till he successfully completes alcohol rehab and counseling and then it's still one day at a time.
