Absolutely I agree and one of the very reasons that unless the person is in another country I will not communicate by email or text messaging.

I only use text messaging on my phone for one person and she is a fellow freeper I have seen so much damage done to friendships by phone texting where one person or the other has got the wrong end of stick and caused so much friction before they met and the context and what she actually meant was clarified by that time half their group of friends were up in arms and had come down on one side or another.

Face to face contact is the only way you can really read what someone is saying and I agree that is why we have so many disputes on FR mainly as you say because people feel liberated to say things that in real life they would not dream of saying.

Well about 20 years ago, I learned this the hard way. I was really good at my job, and I knew a lot more than the New People that were in the State agency that was overseeing our Law Enforcement Agency's Computer checks on "Wanted" anything. I did not think I phrased my answer in a snotty, sarcastic, know it all way, but apparently she did and so did my Supervisor. Jeeze, what a hullabaloo that stirred up, and I have always since that time low keyed everything so as not to make anyone that receives my correspondence feel dissed or insulted. If a Liberal Democrat is at the other end that is different.... LOL! You can only be misconstrued if you do not imagine that what you just typed could be said face to face without leading to fisticuffs. It is so much nicer to be able to look into someones eyes when you are communicating. Well, that is in the future.
