Somehow I don't think the folks in the military are going to ignore McCain's insistence on treating the terrorists kindly or the fact that he was always defending his good friend, jon carry.

Maybe my memory is off base but my sense is McCain supported the "more boots on the ground" side of what's going on in Iraq.
If so, this would help explain why he is so anti-Rumsfeld as well as past complaints against President Bush and what we are doing in Iraq. It also means if there were a President McCain, he would turn the military back to what it was before all the modernization we went through, which has turned out well and created an even better US military.
My point is, saying McCain is good on Iraq is not necessarily the best credential for his running for president. Add in all his other blunders and it is hard to envision him winning any national election.

I am not so sure after something I witnessed last night with a slide show that was presented by a Combat Veteran of several Military Wars or Offenses dating back to Grenada, and through Desert Storm, and right up to Present. He showcased RR,GHWB,GWB, and then Mccain when he was talking about the future for Strong Military leadership in the President. I almost bit my tongue in half not shouting out the truth about Mccain. It would not have been proper and it would have been dishonoring the others that were present.
