One of the problems we're having right now is that we've allowed the Dhimmicrats and the media to call this "the Iraq War," and not "the battle of Iraq in the War on Terror." You are not alone, I've harped over this myself. Repblicans became too defensive with that whole "Mission Accomplished" aircraft carrier event. We failed to make the distinction between winning the war and now ensuring the continued peace. The fact is, IMHO, the war in Iraq was won years ago.

Two mind-sets: 1. Do what is right regardless of how it benefits you. 2. Do what you can to keep political power
regardless of whether it is right.
The Clintons have a record of picking #2 to promote their own political interests, but give us rhetoric they are picking #1. Some voters are easily fooled by an actor who is not really genuine!
To: Mo1
....all he ever did for them (the blacks) was use them for votes....and that could be said for 99.99% of the Democrats.

You are certainly correct on everything you mentioned, and I will go one step further. People do not talk face to face much anymore, and they have forgotten how to communicate. They only know email, text messaging, and any other way they can communicate except face to face. I learned many years ago that when you communicate via anything but personal contact where the person cannot read your facial expressions and body language you can get into a world of trouble without even realizing it. Everything is deemed stronger to the recipient (of any typed message) and that is how fights start on venues like the Freerepublic. People lose control and say things that they would never say in person to the recipient's face. It is so much more than people bore each other today, and do not know how to carry on a face to face conversation, it is that if the person is there in front of them they cannot multitask like you can when you are on the phone or computer with them. People play computer games by themselves now instead of playing Monopoly or Card games with a group having snacks and enjoying each other's company. I hope this makes sense to everyone, it is so obvious to me.

Can you imagine the Clintons going back into the W.H. after trashing it for 8 years? They should at least return the silverware. (stole that one)

No problem, it happens all the time. Tancredo has become a character fire-starter over the immigration issue, and others, so he knows this happens to him. Tancredo tends to say things without the pandering spin or otherwise in a more softer approach. The on trait Tom Tancredo will not claim is tact.

This man has no more experience to run for POTUS than most of the freepers at FR!!! How could our country do this to itself at this time in our history???
Did you ever see the Peter Sellers movie Being There? Besides being one of the funniest deadpan performances I've ever seen, it addresses this exact issue in a scathing manner.
If you haven't seen it I recommend you try to find a copy.
The twists and turns of the life of it's "writer," Jerzi Kosinski, adds a bit of melancholy, as well as the fact that Sellers died right around the time the film came out. But it does take on the question you raise. Basically the conclusion is that there are enough fools who will vote for whoever the press and the power brokers tell them to. Just look at the 90s for proof of that proposition.
