Earth's Crust Missing In Mid-Atlantic

"Scientists have discovered a large area thousands of square kilometers in extent in the middle of the Atlantic where the Earth’s crust appears to be missing. Instead, the mantle - the deep interior of the Earth, normally covered by crust many kilometers thick - is exposed on the seafloor, 3000m below the surface."

Could the event that caused this huge section of crust to go missing have been responsible for the change in thermohaline circulation that occurred at the end of the period known as the "Younger Dryas" in which the temperature in Greenland rose 10 degrees in a decade. (Remember there was no industrial pollution at the time)LOL

it's not thinner crust. it's lack of crust.

If they'd used Criso, it would've been flakey crust!

Okay. I'll shut up now.

What is the "news" in this "discovery"?

I think I know where the Global Warming Moonbats may have gotten their idea about Earth Global Warming (GW).

Back it the 1970s, the Soviets sent a series of unmanned spacecrafts called Venera. Those Russian probes discovered a very thick atmosphere containing droplets of sulfuric acid and other gases, which reflected the heat back to the planet. And as of consequence, The Venus temperatures can reach about 900 degrees Fahrenheit.

Venus's atmosphere main constituent is...as you can guess ... is carbon dioxide. The same pollutant the GW Moonbats say that will doom us. LoL!

I read about this revelation not in some scientific magazine or journal, but standing at a super market checkout stand back in 1978.

To digress, the Moonbats received there first "news" of Global Warming from the cover of the National Enquirer, which asked the question 'Can this happen here on Earth?"

So Commie spacecrafts brought the news of Global Warming to the world of Moonbats who read the National Enquirer.

How ironic. :-)

Hmmmm. OK flame me if you like, but Walter Brown, a certified YECcer, wrote a book some years back that featured a thin-crusted mid-Atlantic as an event trigger in his very imaginative attempt to argue for how a Noahcian Flood could have occurred.

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. NIV Genesis 7:11

"Space aliens stole it."
Nah. The Bilderberger Group. The last time they kept siphoning off the ocean water - and then flushed it down and released it in a tsunami. And now, too, they will drop that missing chunk somewhere.

I am not certain I understand the idea here, are we saying that the crust is missing and that the lava that comes up to the wsurface is not just through a crack in the crust, but that there is simply lava right at the bottom of the ocean heating things up?

You see, it starts this way: "just one little sample..."

then it's "We need more samples for study...."

Then "we need an extensive coring program..."

See? See where this ends up?!!

Now it is gone!

LOL!

Stolen by The Clinton's.

Well, if it wasn't nailed down or super glued then it must have been meant for them to take with them when they left office along with the silver wear.
