I completely disagree.

It is the absence of more individuals like Coulter that keeps conservatives consistently on the losing side of public policy even when they win.

Ridicule is basically controlled by the Left. The Left continues to speak in the patronizing voice.

Poor stupid conservatives-- they dont believe evolution, they dont want people to get out of wheel chairs, they hate gay people, they are racist, they are sexist, they dont get global warming, etc etc etc.

The scorn dynamic allows liberals to control conservatives even when they are in power.

The absence of scorn and ridicule on the right is part of the pious conservative persona that is "above it all" and turning the other cheek.

Conservatives must learn how to frame public argument in terms of ridicule.

Its time to start selling life jackets for polar bears to convey our deep concern for these gentle arctic giants.

Without comparable canons such as Colbert and Stewart, the Left will always be able to turn the tables on any power grab. Re-framing of public argument is currently directed by the left via ridicule. This is why Coulter is deemed so threatening. The right is not allowed to ridicule the left. It is the sacrosanct position of rhetorical privilege.

Your post is right on. I liken it to the "cool kids" [the Democrats] in high school beating up on and mocking the "retarded kids" [the Republicans]. How challenging is that?

But, the high-fiving goes on, among the cool kids and their buds at the school paper...

If it wasn't for Coulter, the ideological goal posts would move further and further to the left by the leftists themselves. A conservative make a perceived controversial comment - other conservatives and Republicans are supposed to condemn those comments, which discourages conservatives and allow the Left to move the issues that much further to the left.

The hand-wringers and others who would rather lick the boots of their masters instead of standing up and fight clearly cannot understand this.

Imagine if Ann had used the name Ken Melhman instead of John Edwards. Or David Drier.

Would we have found that to be funny?

Well said. Time we had leaders with conviction, and thick skins, who will be dismissive enough to put scorn in its place.

Reagan ridiculed liberals constantly. One of his charms, and oh so effective.

Your comments hit the mark. Political correctness can only be countered by ignoring it.

Coulter is what a good cowgirl should be. Ragheads, faggots, and commies need to be offended. Ann should not be William F. Buckley even though she has the intellect and the education. She needs to stomp on the Lib taboos of our time.

I don't use the N-word but New York City needs to now that it is against the law.

Your quote.

The right is not allowed to ridicule the left. It is the sacrosanct position of rhetorical privilege.

In this, is the power of political correctness. It is the position taken in the so-called human rights commissions and their equivalent in the United States. In the general application of "judgements" in certain areas a well known Canadian writer, noted in the National Post, these facts. Courts generally give advantage to Muslims over Christians, Woman over men. Blacks over Whites. It is an incredible double standard, arguable though it may be in some cases.

This is proven by the largesse given to the likes of Alec Baldwin, Bill Mahar, throw in Cindy Sheehan et al. Alas, this is not too clearly realised by the general population.

Pavlov would have loved the whole scenario.

Excellent insight!

For all those on this board, and out there in general, who are weak of knee and weak of heart, this message must be repeated...and repeated...and repeated!!!!!

And never forgotten!!!

You're absolutely right. The "church lady" is their favorite target. It's too easy. But Coulter is an entirely different matter. That's why they go ballistic at the mere mention of her name.

>who ya gonna call when ya wanna bust a liberal?
