So who will play the role of Bill Clinton to Coulters Sister Souljah? I can't wait to hear what Ann will say if someone tries it.

If it wasn't for Coulter, the ideological goal posts would move further and further to the left by the leftists themselves. A conservative make a perceived controversial comment - other conservatives and Republicans are supposed to condemn those comments, which discourages conservatives and allow the Left to move the issues that much further to the left.
The hand-wringers and others who would rather lick the boots of their masters instead of standing up and fight clearly cannot understand this.

Well, if we conservatives are going to draw a line in the dirt over Jennifer and Ann, I am crossing the line over to Ann's side.
To: lonestar67
Imagine if Ann had used the name Ken Melhman instead of John Edwards. Or David Drier.
Would we have found that to be funny?

Frankly, Ann is an exception only because she's hated by the left. If she was the stock and trade RINO lapdog, she wouldn't receive the hate she does. But, she's unafraid to put a finger (a middle one at that) right into the eye of the beast. So now, all of the moralists of the right become as shocked, shocked, SHOCKED as their leftist counterparts. In truth, Ann is somewhat understated.
We're living in a time not far from knuckles and bullets, we're losing ground to lying, treasonous hypocrites, and our nation is edging closer to terrorist destruction or the abyss of self-inflicted collapse and (cough) our side is pleading for civility - as if that ever mattered one iota to any of our enemies!
To my thinking, having the manners to say please and thank you when you're forced to kiss somebody's @ss isn't civility - it's servility.

Funny how some jokes fall flat only AFTER the fact, when certain pundits scratch their behinds and get the clever idea that they can make themselves look good to the liberal "mainstream" newsrooms by pretending to take "the high road" - - in other words, they run like scared bunnies.
To: JRochelle
We are better than those effing left wingers. This attitude is precisely why conservatives are fed up with the GOP and the party got its ass kicked in the mid-terms.

I would not thought it terribly funny.
That is not my point. the point is WHO gets to engage in ridicule. The Left can and the Right cannot not.
It is immoral for Conservatives to make fun of Liberals. It is moral for Liberals to make fun of conservatives. Ridicule is part of the progressive demeanor which sets them 'above' and 'beyond' stodgy old conservatives.
This hoax is entrenched in the media and academia. I think conservatives allow themselves to fall into this rhetorical trap. It is conservatism which is actually more progressive for humanity, yet they fear they are mere traditionalists defending the old order.
The old order is truly the fascist, socialist, tyrannies that pious leftists have eternally proferred in one vain order upon another.
It is conservatives that liberate, but they fear rather than jeer.
Jeer away Ann.

The hand-wringers and others who would rather lick the boots of their masters...
Exactly. The left wants to control 'speech' - thus, they gave us PC. And the hand ringers march to the 'obedient' drum.
The day flag burning is no longer free speech - is the day I say Ann is out of line.

Faggot? Since when is that an appropriate word to use in a speech at a political convention?
In a smoky bar, fine.
She's a damn phony. One of her best buds is a "faggot". Matt Drudge.

If she used it about Foley then yes, that would have been funny.

What's next Ann, blackface and the n-word? Talk about leading with your jaw. She is not dumb. She had to know the reaction use of a word most of us outgrew in junior high would cause. I've enjoyed her writing and wit for a long time, but I'm beginning to wonder if Ann is selling out the causes she claims to support for personal (and dishonorable) motives.
Her effectiveness has been teetering lately because she's always on the defensive for some provocative comment or another. I didn't mind her "kill their leaders and convert them.." comment and she was right on about the Jersey Girls, if stated a bit to forwardly for public consumption. She's lost me with this. I just can't get behind somebody tone-deaf enough to yell "faggot" from a public podium.

We can't ridicule?
Have you not seen how much ridicule has been heaped onto Al Gore over the past week?
Good, well deserved ridicule. On the web, talk radio and even on TV.

The scorn dynamic allows liberals to control conservatives even when they are in power.
Well said. Time we had leaders with conviction, and thick skins, who will be dismissive enough to put scorn in its place.
