Her effectiveness has been teetering lately because she's always on the defensive for some provocative comment or another. I didn't mind her "kill their leaders and convert them.." comment and she was right on about the Jersey Girls, if stated a bit to forwardly for public consumption. She's lost me with this. I just can't get behind somebody tone-deaf enough to yell "faggot" from a public podium.
Why? Are we scared of Faggots? If we are, how did we get that way?
Wow. She "yelled faggot"? I guess we must have listened to two different recordings of the same event.
Curious.
I'm not buying it for a minute. Pure, triple filtered, freeze dried BS.
I believe you've got that wrong. She's on the defensive because the enemies of conservatives make her an issue.
See how even conservatives do it to her. The author of the post didn't bother to point out that the "Jersey Girls" were very, very political. Ms Coulter would not have been critical had the widows not been.
For decades many have found themselves on the defensive with no fault of their own.
"McCarthyism" became the issue in the 1950s, not national security. The CP/USA invented the word.
The left avoided calling it the House Committee on UnAmerican Activities and instead called it the (house) unAmerican activities committee; a.k.a. HUAC; that made it sound pejorative.
Even an innocent plea for law and order (in response to looting, killings, burnings, riots) became the issue in the 1960s because the left made it "law'n order" and screamed "Racist!" claiming it was a code for the N word.
Ditto the 10th Amendment was code for the N word thanks to leftist word twisters.
Even if people agree with me that doesn't mean they have to like Ms Coulter but I swear they ought to look at the leftists shenanigans first.
I must have missed that minute. Ann, on the defensive? Quite properly, when the liberals (or the girly boys on the semi-right) huff and puff that she's not showing good dhimmi manners, she always takes the opportunity to twist the knife a quarter-turn more.
I like that in a girl.
I also don't follow the argument that "faggot" is "tone-deaf" talk for a political humorist. She's not running for office, last I checked. You might prefer she refer to Edwards as a "metrosexual twit," but hang on, I'm sure she will.
Edwards is a very effeminate candidate and affects a lot of the behavior you might find in Dupont Circle. Note the 10 minute hair prep video.
Might not have been the most tasteful comment, but it was more of a topical humor joke than just shouting 'fag' at a guy. Ann is a polemecist and humourist. She enjoys making people laugh. If she had just called Edwards a 'fag', I would agree with you.
Unfortunately, 90% of the CPAC crowd has no idea what Grey's Anatomy is because they are listening to Michael Savage when it's on. Ann's flaw was overestimating the pop culture IQ of the audience. This is why she lives in NY, not DC.
