"Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty. "
I remember all of that also.
I also didn't say that Reagan was a failure or a bad president.
He was a wonderful President...BUT, it is time to think of the future, not try to recreate the past.
Reagan DID face the same enemy we have, he just didn't know it...radical Islam DID attack our country, Reagan didn't do anything about it...
I also remember that Clinton was darned lucky for the computer industry boom of the 90's..because there was a LOT of bad things that happened during his watch that NO ONE ever talks about.
I just hope that the GOP candidates spend more time trying to look to the future with optimism, which I believe was a Reagan trait...than try to relive the past.
Question - where does "fascism" come into the equation? LOL.
Hildy, no you don't have to think a certain way, just post a certain way. ;-)
I'm getting it, too.
"The difference is that Rudy and Romney actually have a chance of winning."
"Normally niether do Mayors but because of the times Rudy is different. "
Repeat them enough and they become true!
Could just be a kid with too much time on his hands.
She was a busy little Rudy-bot.
Bless you Hildy.
it was a she?
It is unprecedented. I hope he can pull it off.
it was. or so she claimed.
Just for giggles, question: is it more difficult being the Governor of Arkansas (get a good mental picture) or being the Mayor of the most influential and complicated city (New York) on the face of the earth?
Btw, I have no vested interest in any candidate at this point.
Hillery is pure evil.
Obama is a young, fresh, photogenic guy with little or no real experience and a background like a socialist on political issues.
I think Hillery will win the primary and she might take Obama as a vice- Presidential running mate - unless of course, he does too well in the primaries, in which case she will have to kill him, and I don't mean figuratively.
Arkancide can happen in other places than Arkansas.
I don't agree...I think the media's darling is Obama....
The only reason they talk about Rudy is because they are afraid he could win...and they give him attention to drive the conservative out of their corners and into the fight.
"A couple of days ago, I thought he might be a paid hack."
That's what I thought, too. It looked like someone working for the Guilianni campaign.
Of course you didn't. I just want to make sure he does get credit for what he did do. Sometimes people forget.
Romney has trouble with his vacillating record on critiacl socail issues - not once, but several times.
Giuliani will face Democratic propaganda about his political voews which will not resonate with America's heartland. His past will come back to haunt him - and us if he is nominated.
Nodding. She will be back in another form. This I am sure.
