I think Rudy is popular precisely because people don't know how far to the left he is on so many issues. Once they figure it out he will sink.
The list is long. Somehow people usually forget to include his position on amnesty and borders onto the list.
To: Clara Lou
Except pro-life, that doesn't absolutely exclude him in my mind but it does temper my enthusiasm a bit.
To: Clara Lou
Duncan Hunter qualifies too..

He fits in with the "anti-above". As time has gone on, you've seen more liberals arrive at FR. They're sort of like the Muslims in Europe. They hate where they are, but enjoy the benefits of being there.

The only important difference between Nazi - ism, Fascism, Communism, Socialism and Liberalism is the spelling, and that the last group hasn't got the brains to figure it out.

Is this a Rudy bashing post? Why don't you spend your time bashing Hillary?
To: ZULU
I was all for Rudy until the stench of his social liberalism, which he refused to repudiate, became too much to bear.
Rudy's support of abortion on demand right up until birth has undermined whatever leadership or conservative qualifications he possesses.

They hate where they are, but enjoy the benefits of being there. ROTFLMAO. Never seen it summed up so well.

I wonder if I belong here. My mind is supposed to be made up for me. It appears that we don't try to persuade. We excommunicate.
Why is this happening? This is supposed to be the place where I get the information to make up my own mind on the issue of who gets my vote for president. We are months and months away. But it appears there is a slate of people I should not be allowed to consider, whatever the situation might be when it actually comes time to vote.
Well, okay then.

I don't know, and I for one, am getting sick and tired of seeing this preeminent conservative forum being used to shill for a liberal candidate. We're a CONSERVATIVE site and we should be espousing and defending conservative points of view.

Is this a Rudy bashing post? Why don't you spend your time bashing Hillary? Posting FreeRepublic's mission statement is bashing Rudy?
It just confirms that Rudy doesn't adhere to any of the conservative beliefs outlined.
To: Barrett 50BMG
Hillery can't destroy the Republican Party and conservatism.
WE can only do that from WITHIN - by LOSING our political and MORAL compasses and supporting a candidate like this man- Giuliani.

Frankly, you could ask the same thing about President Bush. How does he fit in with all of those characteristics? Smaller government?
