It's like a certain other word that one group refers to themselves with but any other group gets crucified if they ever use it.
I have heard both groups refer to each other using words they would never allow anyone else to use in reference to them.
Interestingly consistent behavior displayed by different dysfunctional groups.

I have to say, I got steamed even more by the implications of "political correctness" making "faggot" and "queer" somehow "hate speech" on par with calling a black person a "n@g*3r".
I just don't see it that way. Blacks are a race of people, and Edward's statements seem to raise the standing of homosexuals to the same level. What an insult to every black man and woman I know, and I've come to know quite a few dignified people here in SoFlo! Of course, a "race of homosexuals" would be quite a thing to see as they have no means of reproducing and passing on genetic material (effectively ending the debate on the existence of the "gay gene".)
No Sir. Blacks are intelligent, free thinking individuals who are simply defined as black due to the color of the skin they were born with. Homosexuals are defined by SEXUAL BEHAVIOR and deserve no more consideration for how society responds to said behavior than anyone else.
Particularly when that behavior is so disturbing as to be perceived as harassment of people who would otherwise rather not know about some strangers sexual practices.
For someone to know someone else is a homosexual, the homosexual has to ADVERTISE the fact someone. That in itself is an act of harassment and would likely be done in public. The standard reaction of revulsion and rebuke is both healthy and normal in these cases.
And yet there are fools who still want to stiffle a standard human response to a freak show.
Sorry, but the whole thing gets me steamed. I haven't even had my coffee yet and I'm kind of PO'd.

I imagine Al Franken and Bill Maher could set up a trading firm to manage insult offsets. Then pundits who insult someone of another ideology could just make an investment in Maher/Franken keeping their mouths shut, for a net result of zero insults.
