“Excuse me, maybe I’m a traditionalist,” he wrote, “but I see no place for these weapons among our hunting fraternity.”

Be happy then, for I am NOT a 'hunter', yet I have a rifle that most folks FEAR!!!!

Go figger!!

I think using an AK to hunt a prairie dog is pretty stupid, but I'm not going to try to ban the practice.

Me, too!

But I am gonna try!

The paranoia and gloating that Mr. Zumbo’s name has evoked on gun discussion boards like ar15.com and freerepublic.com speak for themselves

LOL, the Times slanders us as paranoid, while they are and have been doing everything they can to destroy the second amendment; in fact in this article they are supporting a guy who made anti second amendment remarks.

They're clowns. What pathetic lives.

The only reason the NYT has editors and fact checkers, is so they can for sure recognize what might be considered facts, and thus eliminate them before the printing process, so they can hold religiously to the liberal mantra, "don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up".

Earth to NYT, the word H U N T I N G is no where to be found in the Consitution of the United States of America, and especially not specifically in the Second Amendment thereto.

A "tackdriver" is a common term for an accurate rifle. Zumbo is correct with the use of that definition.

Actually, No. Another one of the idiots wants to illegalize "sniper rifles" which seem to be defined as an accurate rifle with a high magnification scope. Of course, your 700 VLS and your Model 12 Varmint are now considered to be "sniper rifles."

Any proper gum chewer chews TriDent. You backwards NASCAR types are ruining the image of gum chewers everywhere by associating us with poor oral hygeine and tooth decay.

I'm sure Zumbo understood his market and is simply executing a savvy strategy. Probably, he is planning to open up the "Upper West Side School of Hunting/Riflery Club" and advertise his services to NY Times readers. They are surely an underserved market and he could capture first mover advantage. Look for him launching a series of PR events at Zabar's in the near future!

Ha! So now we're a "gun discussion board"???

That's actually an improvement over the media calling us a "blog."

THANKS....!!!

Mr. Zumbo instantly became their second-most-hated man, after the gun-control advocate James Brady.

No, douche bags. No one hates Mr. Brady, no one rational, anyway. We hate his wife, who has exploited a seriously injured man for her own reasons. Just like liberals claim they do - we hate the exploiter, not the exploited.

Nope, he apologized for the column.

Do an FR search on "zumbo".

From the articlr

“ban” is the mother of all fighting words to gun zealots.

How about "ban" is the mother of all wet dreamns to anti-gun zealots? (Like the cockroach who wrote this article)

If you can find 2 people on the NYT who have any knowledge of firearms or have fired them I'd be shocked.

They're New Yorkers, they'd lose bladder control if they even saw a gun, let alone touched one.
