I guess you could say that Ann loves to shock us, but at this point, who’s shocked? She obviously can’t behave well enough to attend a respectable political gathering. It’s not a lack of intelligence. It’s an indifference to self-control and a preening sort of narcissism that compels her to need the spotlight, even if it’s unflattering.
(For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s audio of her calling John Edwards a “faggot” at CPAC today.)

Ann Coulter just finished her riff on Al Gore, tossed out some cute jokes ("You can understand why Hollywood is concerned about global warming. You know what heat does to plastic."), and ended with a cheap one-liner about John Edwards being a "faggot." (Paraphrasing) She said she would refrain from commenting on Edwards because "if you say faggot, you have to go to rehab."
A smattering of laughter.
Not from this corner.
Crickets chirping.

Ann Coulter is speaking at CPAC as I write. As is typical, she gave a brief speech full of her usual witticisms, including a few brilliant attacks on Al Gore’s green hypocrisy. All was good. Untill the last few seconds, when she launched into a joke about John Edwards.
Here’s what she said.
“I’d say something about John Edwards, but if you say ‘faggot’ you have to go to rehab.”
I’m no fan of John Edwards, but that’s just a stupid joke. It’s over the line. The laughter it generated across the room was more than a little annoying.
Last year it was “raghead.” This year it’s calling John Edwards a “faggot.” Two years in a row, Coulter has finished up an otherwise sharp CPAC routine with an obnoxious slur that liberals will fling at conservatives for years to come.

My comments... what should have been a day to celebrate a Reaganesque speech by Duncan Hunter, and good speeches by Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee was overshadowed by an unhinged comment by Ann Coulter. She is an absolute idiot for saying something like this at CPAC.

I see there's hope for me, I'm ambidexterous (but I still like girls) so I can probably delay a little longer that "taking charge", "bringing order", and "revealing right and wrong" thing. Maybe get some special ed or better yet tutoring. I'm still kind of surprised about Dr. E's maturing so fast. Seems like it happened over night. One day joking on Neener Friday and the next, wham! mature! big thoughts, big words, "taking charge", "bringing order", and "revealing right and wrong". I wonder if it has anything to do with global warming? Maybe if I keep my windows shut at night I can delay it. Of course if K ever finds out about this she'll probably add maturing to her prayer list. Thank God for predestination; all according to His time!

Her remark was a parody of the actor who announced he was going to rehab because he called someone a 'faggot'. She used this ridiculous PC event to lampoon Edward's effetely decadent character and persona.
She served us this satire by declining to comment on John Edwards because she didn't want to submit to rehab for using an apparently un-PC term.
I found it quite appropriate and absolutely delicious.

I read somewhere on this very forum that whatever we're living today was put into place 20 years ago.
And 20 years from now is just around the corner.
South Park can be scary. The one before last night's tolerance camp episode was alGore's ManBearPig episode.
Think what you like. Playing nice and above the fray accomplishes nothing. The average american voter pays more attention to who's ahead on American Idol than to national and international affairs.
Not responding just leaves the dems latest lies firmly implanted in the average voter's otherwise empty head.
Hit them in kind, call them liars and show why they are liars, be nasty and the gop will get more respect by standing up to them as well as showing the crats that their "repeat the lies often" tactics will no longer work.

Don't worry about Global Warning - you've shown you can take the heat (unlike the lefties who need to get out of the kitchen, hehe). As far as that 'maturing' stuff, you're 'RIGHT' - it was predestined to happen. But, don't fret - there's special dispensation for Predestined Presby's on Neener Fridays, so we can all cut loose then - in the 'RIGHT' way of course, LOL.
BTW, I once saw a couple of bumper stickers on the back of an 18 wheeler that made me laugh out loud. The one on the left had an arrow pointing towards the left side and said "Pass with Caution". The one on the right had an arrow pointing towards the right and said "Predestined Presbyterians".
