Idiotic. Disgusting. Stupid. Moronic.
I guess you could say that Ann loves to shock us, but at this point, whos shocked? She obviously cant behave well enough to attend a respectable political gathering. Its not a lack of intelligence. Its an indifference to self-control and a preening sort of narcissism that compels her to need the spotlight, even if its unflattering.
(For those of you who dont know what Im talking about, heres audio of her calling John Edwards a faggot at CPAC today.)

Michelle Malkin -
***4:15pm update***
Ann Coulter just finished her riff on Al Gore, tossed out some cute jokes ("You can understand why Hollywood is concerned about global warming. You know what heat does to plastic."), and ended with a cheap one-liner about John Edwards being a "faggot." (Paraphrasing) She said she would refrain from commenting on Edwards because "if you say faggot, you have to go to rehab."
A smattering of laughter.
Not from this corner.
Crickets chirping.

Bryan Preston of 'Hot Air' -
Ann Coulter is speaking at CPAC as I write. As is typical, she gave a brief speech full of her usual witticisms, including a few brilliant attacks on Al Gores green hypocrisy. All was good. Untill the last few seconds, when she launched into a joke about John Edwards.
Heres what she said.
Id say something about John Edwards, but if you say faggot you have to go to rehab.
Im no fan of John Edwards, but thats just a stupid joke. Its over the line. The laughter it generated across the room was more than a little annoying.
Last year it was raghead. This year its calling John Edwards a faggot. Two years in a row, Coulter has finished up an otherwise sharp CPAC routine with an obnoxious slur that liberals will fling at conservatives for years to come.
Thanks, Ann.

My comments... what should have been a day to celebrate a Reaganesque speech by Duncan Hunter, and good speeches by Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee was overshadowed by an unhinged comment by Ann Coulter. She is an absolute idiot for saying something like this at CPAC.
LOL! I nor Ann are party first types. On one hand you say could give a dam less. Then on the previous you take the time to post what you really think about Ann. Obviously you do give a damn, or you would not have posted what you wrote.
Am I the only one thinking "so the hell what?"
IT WAS A JOKE. A damn joke. A bit inappropriate, sure, but a joke nonetheless, and less of a concern than when Joe Biden called Obama "clean."
You are right. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"when I grow up."
"Just so you know, the neeners took an unofficial poll, and although we don't know whether all the ballots are in since we don't keep lists, and we are forced to keep the polling open for indefinite time so as not to miss anyone, what we have seen is it's unanimous that we don't want you to grow up. There would be a recount if we knew how many voted since no one can believe we were all of the same mind and there is much mouse pointing, but the thinking is "stay as you are" so we have a bench mark from which to measure our lack of maturity."
Too late - Dr. Eckleburg has fully matured into an honest respected gadfly who is now free to roam about this thread (and all others) with acerbic wit, satirical and sarcastic comments and stinging critics of the PC crowd and other liberals.
The sergeant says "Carry on, Dr. Eckleburg".
Semper Fi
After all the Democrat hate that conservatives, Christians, and decent people have been subjected to during the 12 years since the Republicans took control of Congress in 1994, Ann's remark is hardly even a nit in comparison.
Yes that's why she continuously rails on Democrats and mysteriously rarely questions Republican actions. Matter of fact from her website archived list of opinions, one is hard pressed to find any article condemning Republican actions. However I found a few. No, calling the Democratic party the 'enemy' and tossing patriotism around as some sort of argument is nothing more than party cheerleading.
Note I'm not in anyway supporting the Democratic party in this, they have their own idiot cheerleaders like Al Franken who incessantly blather on about the 'evils' of the other party. But to claim either is presenting a rational form of argument is ridiculous.
Man, oh man, did any of these people aspiring to be lovers of this country ever read Thomas Paine or Sam Adams??? Like they were milquetoasts.
Ann makes her remarks in the context of greater political debate and the bulk of her research is ignored. She makes a comedic line and gets tons of attention.
How about the left wing's great comedic heroes: George Carlin, Lenny Bruce, or Richard Pryor? These guys are lionized by the left and they routinely used insulting language--but because Ann is conservative, she's forbidden to use an occasional jab while trying to make a point??!
John Edwards is a big boy. He can take it, can't he? Or is it beyond the pale to rip a guy who cares more about how his hair and moles look than if he's putting too big a "carbon assprint" on the earth with his huge McMansion??
Ann must go to Tolerance Camp!!!!!!!
I'm leaning toward Romney, but I'm pretty open at this point. I hope it will be a non-event. We'll see.....
Ann is ridiculing them, not joining them!
Which is fine by me because they are ridiculous and Ann is very, very good at illustrating that.
You can spin that comment any way you want, but it was a preposterous thing to say. Can you imagine an insurance agent preparing to hand over a death benefit to a grieving spouse and he interjects to ask how do we know the spouse wasn't planning to dump you? It was silly, baseless speculation.
Yes he is Clara. He is a whussy.
I saw his number in a bathroom at a rest stop.
I did not say he was gay you idiot, I sid he was a faggot. My brother in law who is married, has 2 kids and is a cop is a faggot. Wimp of wimps. He is such a fag.
OK, that does it. Now I've got to search 'CPAC'!!
grumblegrumblegrum
Were YOU there, BTW??
