Best-selling right-wing author Ann Coulter, speaking to a conservative audience in Washington Friday, called former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., a "faggot."
Coulter was a featured speaker at the 34th annual Conservative Political Action Conference. Following her prepared remarks, televised on C-Span, Coulter was asked to talk about Edwards.
"It turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot,' so I'm kind of at an impasse -- I can't really talk about Edwards," she said.

You're clearly not from CPAC. They laughed at Ann's jest.
Additionally, I suppose that it was alright for Dean to imply that President Bush had prior knowledge of 9/11. Typical BS from the moonbats.
Note the differences. They react with hostility and challenges. The right reacts to vituperation by groveling, desperately trying to prove that they are really nice guys and "above" all that.
The difference? The right immediately abandons the substantive issues and becomes servile. The left stands up and fights winning a large portion of the substantive issues by default -- then on the the next "issue," more atacks on the right, more kowtowing from the right.
It's been that way ever since (and probably long before I am old enough to remember) "McCarthyism" became the "issue" not national security.
I see it much differently than you I suppose.
I see a Stockholm Syndrome suffering nation devoid of courage that no longer has the balls to fight back against cultural marxism.
Go ahead and subscribe to the diversity training and verbal reeducation camps at your own peril. You are hanging yourself on your own petard.
One day soon, Americans will be silenced - afraid of their shadows and afraid to speak their minds because they might offend someone. How much longer before policemen would have taken the stage and arrested Ann Coulter for "hate speech"?
The worst kind of slavery is when you no longer have the freedom to speak your mind and say what you feel for fear of offending someone.
People in the United States are going to wonder what ever happened to their freedom.
I took a long nap, gotta get busy now. Be around.
I'm in for the evening. Saturday nite with FRiends and a fine cigar!!
The funny part is having to go into rehab for using the wrong word.
And she allows us to be what passes for normal conservatives. I.e., at least we're not Ann Coulter. Thanks, Ann.
Good point. Panties on the head versus no head at all.
I don't consider that those of us objecting Ann's F****T comment are in lock step with "diversity training and verbal reeducation camps". Geez. This statement by itself hurts the cause IMO while much of what she says is on target. But I am conflicted because it's mot as if the MSM will ever give her point of view credibility even if she is civil. And I HATE that political correctness is indeed silencing dissent in this country. So I think we're just disagreeing as to tactics.
Thank you for making me laugh today!
GOP Candidates Criticize Coulter for Slur
NY Times
WASHINGTON (March 3) -- Three of the leading Republican presidential candidates on Saturday denounced one of their party's best-known conservative commentators for using an antigay epithet when discussing a Democratic presidential contender at a gathering of conservatives here.
The remarks by Ann Coulter, an author who regularly speaks at conservative events, were sharply denounced by the candidates, Senator John McCain of Arizona, Rudolph W. Giuliani of New York and Mitt Romney of Massachusetts. Their statements came after Democrats, gay rights groups and bloggers raised a storm of protest over the remarks.
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference before an overflow crowd on Friday, Ms. Coulter said, "I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot,' so I -- so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards."
Mr. Edwards's aides responded with an e-mail message that attacked Ms. Coulter and urged supporters to donate to Mr. Edwards's campaign. "John was singled out for a personal attack because the Republican establishment knows he poses the greatest threat to their power," said his campaign manager, David E. Bonior. "Since they have nothing real to use against him, Coulter's resorting to the classic right-wing strategy of riling up hate to smear a progressive champion."
Ms. Coulter, asked for a reaction to the Republican criticism, said in an e-mail message: "C'mon, it was a joke. I would never insult gays by suggesting that they are like John Edwards. That would be mean."
At the conference, she said she was likely to support Mr. Romney.

well, she did not literally call Edwards a fag outright....
where are those pics of Edwards being all gay with Kerry?
I'll take door #1, please!
I saw the video of John Edwards combing his hair on Youtube.
I could not believe how conceited and self-absorbed he is.Then at the end he continuosly licks his lips over and over again. He is definitely a fag.
I'm just SEW out of touch!
My mom always used to say "ambisextrous". It seems so much funnier to me.
Title is incorrect. She didn't call edwards a faggot. She said she couldn't talk about edwards because she couldn't use the word faggot.
