Democratic Party boss Howard Dean demanded that Republican presidential candidates denounce conservative columnist Ann Coulter after she referred to Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards as a ‘faggot’ during a speech Friday at a national conservative gathering.

I agree. First of all it took not an ounce of wit to say this. Second of all, now the left will use Ann Coulter again to slam conservatives. See, here is the problem. Coulter says this stuff knowing it will give HER publicity for her books and appearances while the conservatives have to suffer the slams. Good for her (maybe) and lousy for the rest of us.
And before the rest of you slam me, try imagining Winston Churchill saying the same thing. He would have made his point with a great deal more WIT.

After all the insults Howie has thrown at Republicans as head of the donk party, it`s amusing that he expects Republican candidates denounce an insult given by a columnist. By the way, did the RNC head demand Edwards, Obama, Hillary, etc., denounce William Arkin (another columnist) for calling our troops mercenaries?

John Edwards is the epitome of the Empty Suit. He is also one of the Demoncrats cookie cutter candidates, an elitist lawyer who wants to rule by fiat, but exempt himself and his "buddies" from his regulations. In all seriousness, we MUST defeat this, once and for all!
But there is also the great Churchill tale of when he was in the House of Commons one day and was savagely attacked by a junior member of the opposition party. This man called Churchill every name in the book and violated just about every written and unwritten rule of debate while Churchill sat there in silence. The man's own party leadership were appalled at his performance and later called him in behind closed doors and read him the riot act. He was ordered to go to Churchill's house and apologize. The MP immediately went to the house, knocked, and explained to Churchill's servant what he was there for. The butler went to find him and found Churchill occupied in the bathroom. When told who was there and what his purpose was, Churchill said, "Tell him I'm in the privy and can only take one shit at a time." Which goes to show that the great man could stoop to barnyard language when appropriate.
Having said that, I will point out that Coulter is no Churchill and will never be. The fact that she resorts to calling people names like 'faggot' shouldn't surprise anyone who has ever read her stuff. Face it, if she couldn't call names or throw insults then she'd strangle trying to find anything to say and her columns could fit on the back of a matchbook She's never had a message and it's never been what she's trying to say so much as how she says it. Coulter is the political commentator's version of a shock jock.
But completely accurate. Take Stern out and clean up his language and he'd be passing out fries at McDonalds inside a year. Sit Coulter down and challenge her to write a serious column in the style of a Krauthamer or a Will and she'd die of mental block. Coulter knows her act and her audience. She's made a very good living insulting people. So did Don Rickles.

I don't understand your comment. She is an open lesbian, Edwards, to everyone's knowledge, is not gay (or queer, or whatever term you're comfortable using in discussion). Will you explain?
